School mottos?

I went to a bog standard Catholic Secondary Mod school our motto was/still is, "Semper Fidelis". Always or Ever Faithful.

Abesque labore nihil - Without work nothing/ nothing without work..........how true!

Gaudeamus "Let us rejoice" a rather nice one I think!

Sic itur ad Astra. Thus the way to the stars.

The primary school I worked in had a motto, Laborare est orare, which has always appealed to me and fits my own values. ☺️

Ours is; "Bona Side Fine Fraude"

Crikey, you all went to posh schools. My London comprehensive had nothing. I've just checked the school's website and they recently introduced a modern sounding "learning through realising potential."

I haven't thought about that for a very long time!

If I had a personal motto I think it would be the Nike one - 'Just do it'!

Anyone remember their school motto? Ours was 'Gentleness and Justice'. Not sure I lived up to that.

The school song was the Athenian oath set to music - we will never bring disgrace to this our city, nor ever desert our suffering comrades in the ranks.
This was an all girls high school!!
