Another bizarre coincidence happened many years ago when my husband was repping. He was coming home down the M62 in thick fog and saw a man walking down the hard shoulder with a petrol can in his hand. Knowing he was miles from anywhere husband pulled up and asked if he was ok - the man was obviously upset and said he'd been walking for ages and had lost his car which had run out of petrol somewhere. After some quizzing husband managed to work out where he'd been so took him back and they found his car.
Some time later my dad was playing golf in our old home town (not where we were living by then) and got talking to one of the other players who told the tale of this kind young man who'd rescued him on the motorway and taken him back to his car. Dad was able to proudly say that was his SIL
