I'm in two minds really.
It can't hurt, but I do find both the Windsor brothers very irritating.

I agree with the OP - how much damage has David Attenborough done over the decades of his career, yet now he lectures the rest of us who would normally take one flight a year or less. I wonder how much damage he did to habitats which he invaded with his film crew?

I agree. Another case of 'do as I say not do as I do'
On the positive side, the Prince is keeping his employees in a job coming up with ways to highlight his good ideas

I agree to an extent, but maybe it takes one or two VERY high profile people to get the message across. What I object to more is celebrities with film crews who jump in the bandwagon, like Stacey Dooley (Africa), even Judi Dench (orangutans) etc everyone an expert.

By our very existance we all contribute to the the looming climate crisis.
I am less frustrated by DA because at least he really knows what he is talking about. WW is used to raise the issue.. no problem with that in principle ( did u see whatI did there ?) it is a way of making climate change high profile to a wider audience.

We also have to accept that people can change opinions and behaviour!

I think if I felt 'lectured at' it might be because I felt uncomfortable with the message. We often kick the messenger for that reason.

I don’t doubt we could nitpick about the sainted Greta if we looked hard enough into her life but surely we can acknowledge that most people will do what they can?

I have always thought that DA was not in the best position to preach about climate change, given that he has made his living flying round the world; but even I would not describe him as "causing more damage than any other individuals" - I am sure there are those who are higher up the polluting scale.

It is a shame that this very important message is in the hands of people who do not look at their own pollution record.

pantglas2 Unfortunately most people do not do what they can to slow climate change.
I could give up my car.
I could never by a new item of clothing.
I could eat only seasonal food

but I don't.

I do try hard not to buy items with or wrapped in plastic, I recycle as much as local council supports, I buy from ethical producers as much as possible etc etc. and so I do a little tiny bit.

In the past I was unthinking & ignorant about the impact of my choices.. now none of us can say we did not know. I joined the XR action last year in London & will do so again.
