In these testing times good to find reasons to smile...
Today my DGDs have an INSET day..at 9:00 I got a WhatsApp message from DGD1 asking for my recipe for chocolate sauce! I hope the kitchen is clean by the time DD gets home ?

I went to the lake, sat on the jetty, listened to the waves, watched the gulls, the boats, took pictures, collected a bag full of small pieces of driftwood and then went home and made a Valhalla Ladder / driftwood garland ..

GC1 and GC2 cuddling up together under a blanket in the chair. It only lasted a minute but is sealed in my memory.

Thanks ladies, nice posts!

2 photos received today; one from my son was a beautiful rainbow over the harbour, the one from my daughter is of her my Gsons in a pumpkin patch.

I had to work today... just finishing up and spending a few moments here.

A baby's gummy smile will do it every time. I wonder what our lockdown babies will think about being born in this year that will make future history lessons?

Our 7 year old granddaughter sending a message to ask if she could come over today, “because she had no plans”. We had a lovely crafty afternoon!

This reminded me of when my daughter was at junior school & she had her nan in the park before school started hunting for INSECTS to capture in a match box to take into class. Nan was very embarrassed when they were the only ones other than teachers to turn up on INSET day. We haven’t let them forget this & my daughter is 30 this year & also a teacher.?

Seeing my grandchildren for the first time in many weeks.

Removing two items from my 'to do' list. Yippee. One was fiddly but eventually achieved and the other was a bit of a five minute pathetic nonsense. Joy indeed.

Having a walk in the sun followed by lunch in a local cafe with my lovely best friend, then a quick forage round the charity shop opposite where I bought bargain books for the DGS and some beautiful Christmas cards.

We took our three year old GD to a farm park yesterday and she got to groom a pony - her little face was a picture.

Yes, thank you for starting it PECS. Happiness releases good hormones too, much better than constant doom and gloom.

Since lockdown I have been keeping in touch with friends and family by WhatsApp as well as calls. I have had a huge response when I sent out lighthearted memes and as a result I receive many by return.
Just having something make you smile brightens your day.
