Can you help me find some comfortable walking boots please!

This is fantastic everyone - thank you...I didn't know where to start! Keep the recommendations coming please...

I bought a pair of Berghaus boots and they appeared to fit very well. At first. But 3 miles into a walk, I couldn't stand the pain at the back of my heel any longer and so took them off. I've never seen blood blister that size before; it was huge. Nothing I did made those boots fit better and I ended up giving them to the charity shop. The pairs that I have now, and spend most of my time in, are from Aldi and cost £19.99 .

I love my Berghaus boots - 20 years old and still going strong.

Meindl or Dubarry - the quality will be remembered long after the price is forgotten.

I wear a German make “ Waldlaufer” they are totally waterproof and extremely comfortable with a wide choice of widths.

I’ve had mine for years and I would change the two pairs I have for and others.

I think it important to wear a pair of thick walking socks with walking boots so recommend trying on walking boots while wearing the socks. Any rubbing by the boot is taken up by the sock, not your skin and helps your skin to breathe in waterproof boots.

Another vote for Merrill.

My last four pairs of walking boots have all been Merrell. I have been able to wear them all straight from the box without plasters.

We walk about 5 miles a day and they are always so comfortable whatever the terrain.

I find I have to get a size bigger than normal though otherwise they are too tight

I bought them years ago from Decathlon, I don’t know if they are still trading but they are very comfortable and very hard wearing. They have very deep cleated soles and are excellent in Snow

Peter Storm, really comfortable boots or shoes. If you look on line you can find bargains, lots of shops will match that price so well worth looking!

There was a post on this very question last week. Might be worth a look as there were many suggestions.

My walks are short treks too, and I have the bunion, so we’ve a couple of things in common, Walsing. My boots are from Cotton Traders. I’ve had a lot of use out of them, they’re light and comfortable, but sturdy and non-slip enough for my purposes. They’re not very waterproof, but I’m not sure they claimed to be. Others on the website do. I hope this helps.
