What simple thing gives you that frisson of pleasure and excitement?

Settling down on a Friday evening for a pre-dinner drink (and a bowl of olives to snack on). We don't drink Mon - Thurs, so by the time Friday comes around we're gasping!

Coffee and warm scones, butter and jam whilst watching Escape to the Country on tv in the afternoons. Not very healthy (the scones etc) I know, but we do go for a walk afterwards to get rid of some of those calories!

Coming across wildlife or uncommon birds on a walk- the other day, 1 fox, 2 deer, many crested tits, and for the first time ever, a woodcock.

A beautiful sunrise or sunset. We are really lucky where we live, as we get to see both of these from our house.

When my step counter vibrates on my wrist to tell I’ve done my 10000 steps today. I manage it most days.

Seeing my grandson after being away from him. He is the joy of my life.

Receiving an Instagram message from my teenage granddaughter, who is over 5000 miles away....

When my grandson is with me he drops off for his nap within 10 mins. My son says my technique does not work for him and is threatening to put up a spy camera in my house!?
