Good morning Mick, morning everyone. It’s a grey day here in S Lanarkshire, such a change from yesterday. Nothing much happening today, I’ll potter and faff my way through the day no doubt.

I hope the day goes well, especially for those with troubles to bear.

Grey and cool here and no major plans though I might risk a trip to Bath on my own while DH watches the Rugby League this afternoon. Lovely WI meet up yesterday despite the chill and was duly impressed with the garden which is prairie style in planting- very different from the cottage garden we nurtured.

Sorry so many are anxious or under the weather. It’s hard to stay positive when the outlook is so discouraging but the human spirit keeps bursting through. Thank goodness for the young, who are programmed to look forward. DHD1 was delighted to pass her driving theory test yesterday so she can now join the long waiting list for a practical test. She is definitely looking forward.

Yes Gingster the others are right. You can't mix with another household in any indoor setting. You could walk around the shops socially distanced I suppose.
Your tier rules go with the person and not the place. So you can't even leave your area to meet up.

Good morning all from Derbyshire where it's dry now raining. Our gardening plans were curtailed yesterday due to a couple of showers, but there's always today...or tomorrow!

A quick visit from DS this morning - outside, socially distanced of course! He wants to deliver the afternoon tea voucher he bought me for my birthday two weeks ago, which didn't arrive in time. I'll look forward to that .

This afternoon we'll watch horse racing. It's Champions Day at Ascot ?. Then a visit to check on the horses before returning home to see what concoction we can come up with for dinner.

Morning everyone. Cold and wet here in south Cornwall. Am going to sort my concreting room - It's a small narrow space which I've allowed to get junked up. I started using concrete months ago and facing a long winter with my hips in mega decline I'm going to go back to it. I want to make some planters for my patio.

My amaretti biscuits yesterday were amazing, so easy to make, so quick to eat up! As I said last evening Kalu I'll eat them for you as I don't have your address.

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is dry and cloudy.
Yesterday’s excursion to the tile shop was successful and we now know the colour and shape of tile we want to use in the bathroom - who knew there were so many shapes and styles to choose from!
We had a very pleasant lunch with DD and SIL all socially distance in their conservatory with the doors wide open and the old folk wrapped up in blankets. They were both working from home so it was a pleasant break all round.
I have invested in two squirrel-proof bird feeders in my on-going skirmishes with my resident squirrels; they should be arriving later today so we will see if they deter the little blighters - I have my doubts, but we shall see!
A day in the garden beckons to do a bit more tidying up before wet and windy weather arrives next week.

Good morning everyone from a dull and gloomy Oxfordshire.
Fencers/tree surgeons have packed up and gone, so today I can plant some bulbs in the garden, before the ground gets too cold.
Although I might just put them all into pots.
Apart from that the dog will be here later and we can test if the garden is now dog proof! Let’s hope it is or she will run away.....

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy S Hants, it’s rained overnight, wasn’t expecting that. Mixed news from you all so far this morning, poorly hands, awaiting test results, coffee meet ups and family meet ups, I hope they all go well. Nothing exciting here bar a trip to DD, 10 minutes away, to drop in a pumpkin and crown prince squash I grew for the DG’s Halloween. DH just back with the paper, so the crossword will keep me quiet later after I get a chicken casserole ready for dinner, then a stroll to the local pub. Thermals required for outside sitting now, although they do have heaters.
Hoping you all have a pleasant day and those in difficulty have some respite.

I have added a photo of an unexpected visitor yesterday. This beautiful Maine Coon often visits for a sniff of the pot of catnip but I didn’t think he would manage to get through the cat flap. ?. Now I will have to take my cat for an ID chip and change the catflap settings.

Sorry to hear of your DD’s accident Bellasnana. Hope her treatment goes well. It’s always more of a worry when our DC are so far away ?

Good Morning from Durham - dark, damp and dreary. Had a good nights sleep and woken with a bee in my bonnet, which isn’t like me, as I’m quite laid back.
Frustrating to read that so many GN’s are just carrying on as normal, just because they’re in T1 - do they think they’re immune to the virus if they wear a mask!! We were all in T1 once and now look at what’s happening! Rant over.

Good morning Mick and all his followers from an Angus coast where the clouds have cleared - to make way for an icy wind. I have nothing planned but am definitely looking forward to next week when my tai chi classes will start again. I have really missed them. I passed your mars bar recipe to DGD3, Marydoll, and she says she's going to make them right away as a trial run and then another tray for when she next sees me! At 14 she's a great cook. She made a lasagne for 7 the other week when they were staying with DD's New Man and his boys.

So sorry to hear of your DD's hand Bellasnana - very painful for her. And hard on her pocket too! You're right - we are so lucky with our NHS. I hope all goes well with Mr Kitty's tests. It's a worrying time for you both. Elizabeth I'm so glad you are progressing so well. Enjoy the drive to Dundee and say hello to Newport as you pass - my home town. Enjoy your walk Brook - such a stunning part of the world. That pork bap with apple sauce has my mouth watering Mick! I'm sure I had something like that many years ago off a food stall at a country show - I think it was called a stottie up here. Grandmattie enjoy this extra special day with all your chaps. Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Our South Yorkshire weather is damp and dreary. We are supposed to be walking but it will have to dry up first. And it will have to be close to home. I feel rather ‘bleagh’ this morning, as if there is a UTI on the horizon. Always at the weekend!
Congratulations on your competition win, Corner! Exciting!??. Kitty my son lives in York - not much less than two hours but I wish he lived a bit closer too.

Good morning from a dark and cloudy County Durham.

We're back home now from our travels in Scotland, finishing off with visiting the magnificent Melrose Abbey yesterday morning.

Some upsetting news however on our return. My ex BIL rang ( he was married to my younger sister who died at the age of 35, remarried and sadly lost his second wife to cancer last year). He's in ICU having been rushed into hospital with covid. Currently on oxygen, so hoping he does not become worse. He works in a special school with autistic teenagers, where the virus has taken hold with both pupils and staff. It's a very worrying situation.

DH has the washer on and has nipped out for a newspaper.
I am going to make leek and potato soup later, will fill a pot for my sister as she gave us some of her tomato soup earlier in the week.
My sister in Germany is going to video call at some point over the weekend so I can see how she is, she has been having more injections in her eyes for macular degeneration.
Half term commences next Thursday for GC, hoping they may have time to WhatsApp as we haven't spoken since the end of August.

No builders here today, they only got one short wall done yesterday, hopes of an October finish diminishing fast. I dread the frost as it can harm the lime render.
Thought we’d wrap up warm today and take a picnic to the beach which is finally quiet.
Tesco delivery after 4pm with a few treats included.
Hope all awaiting tests or treatments will be okay.
