Hi all I sometimes ponder over the meaning of posters' usernames and thought it might be an interesting topic for a thread. My own "maydonoz" is the Turkish word for parsley, to reflect my many years living in Turkey, previously and also enjoy cooking so use many herbs, including parsley. Some of you may wish to share your username meaning too.
When I worked night shift, those that worked for/with me where mostly West Cumbrian and was always greeted with a "awz't ga'an marra" and thereafter referred to as marra, so marra it is.
Mine's just a play on a question that was raised on the late, great Terry Wogan's website as it was supposed to appeal to 'oldies', "looking for something in beige?" I possess just one beige cardigan and have them in other colours.
Mine is the same one I used for several years on a forum for carers of people with dementia. I couldn’t be bothered to think of a new one. Self explanatory, I should think!
When I was thinking about joining GN I said: "Of course they will all be domestic goddesses". Since I am very definitely not a domestic goddess I decided that I was going to name myself after the Roman queen of the gods. My year of birth is 1956 hence Juno56.
Vickysponge I've wondered if your user name related to Victoria sponge cake! I once won a prize for my Victoria sponge in the annual Village show. Just saying.... not bragging. Hahaha
I believe mine means serpent lady which is weird because I hate snakes. It’s the name of my favourite long gone cat but I have no memory where I got the name from.
