Hi all
I sometimes ponder over the meaning of posters' usernames and thought it might be an interesting topic for a thread.
My own "maydonoz" is the Turkish word for parsley, to reflect my many years living in Turkey, previously and also enjoy cooking so use many herbs, including parsley.
Some of you may wish to share your username meaning too.

Firdaus is the Arabic word for paradise, or garden of paradise. At one time in the Middle East we lived in a place I enjoyed called Firdaus.
19 is not my age by the way (lol) but the last two digits of the year when I joined gransnet.

Always have a house full of dogs and cats so just merged together one cat name and part of one of the dogs names. No special reason just used the first names that came into my head. Both the animals are long gone but not forgotten.

lizzypopbottle Tue 20-Oct-20 12:25:45

When I was about three years old our next door neighbour greeted me over the garden wall with, "Hello Lizzy Pop Bottle!" I took umbrage, apparently, and declared, "My name's Elizabeth!" (My parents always insisted that the name they gave me was the name everyone must use and I knew it!) So the story was often repeated and the name was handy for this kind of thing. I've never been told that someone else already has that user name.
