Hi all,
I am wearing the attached dress on Christmas day, with ankle boots, 100 denier black tights, a decorative belt and a shoulder bag. I hadn't thought about a jacket but I now wonder if I should have a jacket or wrap or something. What do you think?
Best wishes,
FH x

MawB2, I don't understand why as the alpacas aren't in his house? X
Notinthemanual, thanks for your lovely message. It's always nice when people are supportive. X

Isn’t it nice to know how “educated” those younger than most of us are.
To not know the name of one of your government advisers and what’s is more not being remotely interested is troubling in the least.
No wonder no one is taking the slightest notice of advice about coronavirus.

FH ? I'm speechless! That makes a chnage. wink

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:46:39

LauraNorder it is going ahead, I wouldn't miss the lovely alpacas for the world! X

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:45:22

Marydoll, I have no idea who Jason Leitch is, and don't want to. X
Ohmother, how vulgar! I have never used a tampon in my life! X

LauraNorder Fri 23-Oct-20 09:25:39

Marydoll I didn’t think of that, perhaps a fur thong and matching gloves.

LauraNorder Fri 23-Oct-20 09:23:41

Speak for yourself BlueSky, careful or you’ll end up with a lump of coal in your stocking.

BlueSky Fri 23-Oct-20 09:18:30

You can tell FH is younger than us, we have stopped dreaming. We no longer believe in FC ??

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 09:13:56

LauraNorder remember it's in the Glasgow area, we have on occasions had to resort to fleecy underwear! FH would probably get hypothermia, wearing that dress ❄ and it's been raining for days. Those lovely boots would be ruined. Wellies required, I think.

LauraNorder Fri 23-Oct-20 09:10:50

Ooo I’d forgotten about the visit to the alpaca farm. What a shame it can’t go ahead, you could have given the dress and the boots a dummy run.

BlueBelle Fri 23-Oct-20 09:04:56

Notinthemanual you are new here and things aren’t always as they seem

MawB2 Fri 23-Oct-20 08:57:16

Restrictions on visiting other people’s homes are in place indefinitely, and if these remain at the end of December, visiting others on Christmas day would be banned
Sadly, not only your plans for Christmas may be in jeopardy, FH , but it looks as if the visit from your uncle and the outing to the alpaca farm will have to be put on hold.

JenniferEccles Fri 23-Oct-20 08:52:45

The dress needs a splash of colour especially at Christmas.

How about a red belt? I think the boots look too clumpy but it depends what activities are planned.

Lucca Fri 23-Oct-20 08:50:38

Had the question been posed n a general way..”what would wear with this?” that would have been a different matter.

Notinthemanual Fri 23-Oct-20 08:50:26

FlyingHxndbag Are the drawstrings on the dress elasticated? I'm just thinking if they aren't and your family end up having a bit of a knees up, it might be restricting.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll be wearing for New Years. Have a great day.

*Lucca Marydoll* No one knows what rules will apply in two months' time. If FlyingHxndbag is optimistic good for her.

I said this before....FH has made it clear that the planned get together will go ahead regardless of Covid regulations.

Hetty58 Fri 23-Oct-20 08:47:53

If FlyingHxndbag lives alone - she can, of course, spend Christmas day with her support bubble family.

If she wants to look ridiculous, it's a free world, after all.

I doubt we'll get to see a picture of her wearing it, don't you?

vegansrock Fri 23-Oct-20 08:43:46

I don’t know why you’d need a jacket, boots, shoulder bag on when you are presumably in your own or someone else’s house, wouldn't you , hang the bag and jacket up the minute you got in the door and take boots off? I’d recommend a seasonal onesie and some comfy slippers to get in the party mood.

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 08:31:11

Of course you are entitled to voice your opinion, just as we are to voice our concerns. Notinthemanual.

Just like Lucca, I don't wear buttoned up collars, as those who know me on this site will confirm. Quite the opposite in fact. wink

You are right Ellan I think we’ll all lounge around in a dressing gown this Christmas! We might get one with seasonal print! But it doesn’t hurt to plan like FH! ???❄️

EllanVannin Fri 23-Oct-20 07:57:14

Much as I don't like slobbing around in a dressing gown, I rather imagine that this is what Christmas holds for me----no dressing up etc. so FH is very lucky to be privileged enough to join friends and family for the festive season ! Just where did I go wrong ?? Some people have all the luck !

JackyB Fri 23-Oct-20 07:55:03

My reaction to the OP was:"Why wear all black at Christmas?" Cheerful colours are surely the order of the day. The rest of the thread has had me chuckling, though.

Lucca Fri 23-Oct-20 07:52:47

P.s. have never worn a buttoned down collar in my life.

Thanks marydoll.

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 07:50:03

How can a complete strangers' fashion sense get so many women hot under their buttoned down collars?

As Lucca, has said, it's the consistent and provocative posting about planning to flaunt the Covid rules and guidelines, which has got posters hot under our buttoned down collars., absolutely nothing to do with a woman wearing a dress more suitable for a teenager.
