Sending condolences on this sad day to Grammaretto . ?
Lovely home bakes GrannyGravy, I’ve taken a mince pie with a star. Thank you.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 29-Nov-20 14:13:46

I have been baking, I have left a banana loaf and assorted mince pies on the side, please help yourself.

So sorry to learn that dear Grammaretto’s husband has passed away, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family ?

Hope all are well or at least improving today.
So sad that “one of us” is mourning today.
Brought back some very emotional moments to me.

I made a big decision this morning while making my bed and sorting laundry, I am only sending cards to my very nearest and dearest and a few close friends.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and a real chore for me is sorted.
Makes me think how much of it is duty and guilt induced.

Keep well and safe everyone.

For soop and everyone.

Puzzler61 Sun 29-Nov-20 11:27:02

Good morning, especially to soop and MacS and all kitchen friends.
I hope everyone had a peaceful night and will be having a gentle day. Many Christmas lights are being strung on houses and in trees in our street this weekend. DH will do ours “in the week” he says. There is far too much sport on TV this weekend that he doesn’t want to miss.
TOYA

Good morning from a strangely silent Shire. Not a tractor to be heard, no birdsong, no sheep calling (they have gone) the cattle are in, no hoof falls or neighs. It feels strangely lonely all of a sudden. Not even heard the cockerel this morning.

I hope soop is still resting and that her spirits are not too dampened.

Last evening there was such a racket coming from the trees as the crows gathered before flying off to roost. So unusually loud, I went out to have a peek and noticed something I had never seen before. The tall trees had so many crows silhouetted against the darkening sky but they were nearly all perched in pairs. Quite amazing and strangely touching. After they took flight there was a spookily sound void.

The cornflake saga rumbles on. Ordered online in error they have been languishing in the cupboard for a week so I decided that we had better eat them. I duly popped a small portion in a bowl. I mentioned to CH that I did not remember them being so crunchy but acknowledged it was years since I had eaten any. He smiled gently and said 'don't you usually put milk on them?' ?

Talking of which my current audio book is called The Secret Life of Cows.

Take care everyone and as ever TOYA

So sorry that all didn`t go as planned Soop, but pleased to her that you are home and obeying orders to rest and recuperate. Glad to hear that you`ve had a sighting of Fern since arriving home. All my love xxx

PS, Thanks to Baggs and MacSporran for the updates x

Grandmafrench Sat 28-Nov-20 21:20:47

So very pleased to hear from MacS that he is buttling, you are resting and you both are cheerful. It wouldn't be a lot to ask of that little Fern to be curled up on the end of your bed, now would it, but suppose that will have to wait a while. Focus on getting well now, dear soop - all your gang are wishing so hard for you. x

Doodle Sat 28-Nov-20 21:03:37

Thanks MacSporran and Marydoll for letting us know. Good to hear for once soop is obeying orders. I’m sure no one could take better care of her than you MacSporran. x

Puzzler61 Sat 28-Nov-20 20:43:09

Thanks Marydoll so good to have it confirmed that soop is resting. ?

Marydoll Sat 28-Nov-20 20:30:43

I have just had a text from Soop, saying she is resting and she has confirmed that she is following Mac's orders to the letter.
It's so good to hear from her.

Nannytopsy Sat 28-Nov-20 20:27:31

Best wishes to you both and look after yourself too McS !

Bellanonna Sat 28-Nov-20 18:24:52

Thank you McS. Lots of love to soop and hope to see her again when she feels up to it.

Fennel Sat 28-Nov-20 18:12:25

Thanks for the updates, Macsporran and Baggs.
soop - I'm sure you've had good advice from the hospital about movement and lifting. As Greyduster says.
I had a similar 'procedure' last year but the insert didn't have to support much weight and I still had to be careful.
Apologies if I've misunderstood what you had done.
Bon courage to both of you.

Nannyfaraway Sat 28-Nov-20 17:11:59

Thank you MacSporran for the update. I'm sure you are a very good butler and that Soop is enjoying( being spoilt wellas much as she can in the circumstances.
Soop make sure you keep on resting

dragonfly46 Sat 28-Nov-20 16:17:29

Lins1066 Sat 28-Nov-20 16:16:54

Dear soop sending you a gentle hug and best wishes for your recovery. Hope you feel a little better each day now. Leaving you and MacS some Victoria Sponge ? xx

Charleygirl5 Sat 28-Nov-20 15:53:49

So pleased to hear the butler is working overtime at the weekend. It is so difficult to get the staff nowadays!

Seriously soop you must rest or you will have us lot nagging you and that would not be good.

Delighted to hear that Fern made an appearance. She knows where she is well cared for and she has never been let down.

Please rest and do what you are told.

Bellasnana Sat 28-Nov-20 15:31:21

Just looked in to see how soop is doing after her ordeal. Glad to hear she is feeling a little better. Please take it easy, dear soop, you have taken a battering and need time to recover. Sending love and gentle hugs from Buzz and me.??

kittylester Sat 28-Nov-20 15:20:50

MacS, thank you for taking the time to update us. And you too baggs. We do miss her but need her to be well rested before she ventured in here.

soop Sat 28-Nov-20 15:11:38

Mr Soop here [MacSporran], with a message from my Dearest Soop. She is resting in her bed, being well looked after and spoiled by her butler, and is feeling much better now. Seeing the furry feline outside brought more cheer than the very wee dram she tried last night. There should be an improvement tonight! Oh, I think I hear the gong sounding so I must leave you all now, but normal service will resume shortly. Bye.XXX

cornergran Sat 28-Nov-20 14:02:10

Thank you baggs. A definite need to rest and be good soop, which will still feel like work I’m sure, sending love.

silverlining48 Sat 28-Nov-20 13:03:32

silverlining48 Sat 28-Nov-20 13:01:38

Soop am sending my greetings and best wishes for your recovery. Glad you feel a little better. It’s early days, rest, sleep, eat cake and drink gin. X

Bellanonna Sat 28-Nov-20 12:52:29

Echoing what everyone has said, and a gentle hug xx
