Well, I've had a day I'd rather forget! Noticed when I woke today that one leg - shin / was very hot. When I got out of bed and flexed my toes, it was not comfortable to walk. There was an area of discolouration on my shin. Panic!!! (I do a very good panic). I was immediately anxious that I wasn't looking at a possible deep vein thrombosis. Phoned and spoke to my GP at 10.30. Seen by two Doctors at 11.30. They felt everything o.k. but wanted to be sure, so sent to Clinic for blood test by 12.30pm Went to Pharmacie to be measured for support stockings and picked up analgesic gel. Clinic would contact GP in the afternoon and she would phone me. She did, at 7pm, no problem with my blood/vein in the way of any blockage. She had also spoken to a Vascular Surgeon who said that on the results, he didn't need to see me. However, because the leg is still hot and feels like I have banged it against something, I need to speak to her again in a couple of days to confirm all is well and no sign of infection, if it isn't she'll arrange for another test and also for me to have a Doppler test. Have had 5 Star service and reassurance and kindness but would have preferred, on balance, to have been at home faffing and catching up on household chores and complaining about being stuck at home!!! I'm not used to this sort of all-day event.
So sorry about the world running over your mobile, Flora. A really miserable afternoon for you. Better day tomorrow, hopefully. Keep chirping along, soop - and every day get stronger. I'm looking forward to a photo tour of Fern's new quarters. So wish I could go to a garden centre. I've planted my (last year's) tulips already - almost black and apricot ones in tubs. I do miss my snowdrops in Normandy - I should have brought some with me. And when I think we had a huge cider press completely surrounded by Lily of the Valley. Here in France, small bunches of Muguet are given out to friends and family on the 1st May, which is a nice French tradition - but we struggle most years to stop them burning up by that date, so don't try to grow them in the garden any more. Ah well, horses for courses, I think.
Have a good rest of the evening - a good rest, in fact, especially all the Grans who have been on duty with much loved little ankle-biters.
See you soon. Hugs !
