Wayhey to the woman I saw today with facemask made from one cup of an underwired bra!

It was brilliant grin The underwire just cupped her chin nicely. A lovely shade of rose pink with brown lace. Genius. Have you seen any innovative masks?

Spotted last night, at the witching hour. Look closely, it's a witches hat.

The trouble with using underwear as a mask is that may cause your breath, or others, to come in short pants!

Is that the one with the toys and the little elephant on? I received one in a care package cos I was/am shielding. Yes I agree with you they fit really well. X

Spangler that’s a really crumby joke!

I know, you might even say it's a bit of a pain.

For those whose French is a little rusty, le pain is the french for bread.

Look lovely but they don't appear to have nose strips for securing under specs. I fog up terribly if I go without.

My DH has a favourite joke at the moment about making masks out of bra's.............Make sure you use the left cup ,as otherwise you would look a right tit wearing one

That's a great reworking of a very old gag, love it.

Pittcity

No use if you are a large lady!

Maybe not Pittcity, but it does put a whole new meaning to:
"Does my bum look big in this?"
Meanwhile yet more lunacy, er, creativity from around the world:

Dinahmo Thu 29-Oct-20 23:18:38

If you plan on making proper masks apparently silk is good apparently because it's finer and mire closely woven than cotton.

Dinahmo Thu 29-Oct-20 23:16:17

Another use for bras - hangers for melons if growing up walls.

A sock makes a good mask.

Pitticity, how you made me laugh, thanks.

A young friend from Canada makes masks in Basel- one of the designs she sells the most of, is with a 'varied mixed penises' material- for some reason.

Oh yes please Teetime - I would love a mask which does not steam my glasses up! Great if they are also for a charity.

grumppa Thu 29-Oct-20 13:33:16

I must check DW’s lingerie drawer (no, not drawers!) for possible mask material.

Masks are easily made out of remnants and honestly I cannot afford to buy disposable ones all the time.

Cloth masks can be washed in hot enough water to sterilise them and it is nice to see people wearing something that isn't hospital issue blue.

HannahLoisLuke Thu 29-Oct-20 13:00:21

FarNorth the name of the masks designed by the doctor at Alder Hey Hospital is Brilliant Masks. If you put that in your search engine it should bring it up.

belle60 Thu 29-Oct-20 12:59:00

Well done Spangler you have made me laugh out loud!

mumagain Thu 29-Oct-20 12:57:45

Teetime

I have juts bought some lovely new ones that fit, dont move about, dont fog up glasses and look good. They were designed by a surgeon at alder Hey Children Hospital and are fundraisers too. I can give you the details but not sure I am allowed to on here.

I’d like the link please - I lived near Alder Hey and went there as a child and did some training there later as an adult ?

This is all great fun, but sadly so many people have to make unpleasant comments. Where’s your sense of humour GNs?

Really? Do you know, I've read this whole thread, and gone back and re-read it, and I can't find a single unpleasant comment!
