Hello, I hope people don't mind me asking for some help but a few weeks back my daughters dog had some puppies and when they are old enough I'm going to bring one home.

But I'm really stuck on names for it so if anyone had any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. My other dog is Craig. Thank you very much.

Ooh yes. Please let us see Colin. We all like a nice puppy

Don't forget that we'd love a photo of young Colin, when you can post one, please.

I’m hesitating, but here goes..... Jerry?

Either of the first two!

Our top 3 names are
Colin, Digby and Clancy, so now I just need to decide on which of these fits best with Craig. Thank you ever so much for your help everyone.

May7

Kaiser

I was thinking of that too, but it is a wee bit like a name for a ‘devil dog’, like Sabre or Sultan! Loxley is good also.

I like -
Wallace
Barney
Bailey
Yorick
Toby
Murphy
Clancy
Boris ( to rhyme with Doris)

I suppose Adolf is out of the question?

I had a rat called Colin thirty years ago. I used to take him to school tucked inside my shirt.
He was the most intelligent creature (not due to going to school).
He was like a little dog. I loved him to bits.

Over the years, we have had: Teddy, Murphy, Harry and now Andy for our male dogs. If I 'm allowed a second dog (!) I have thought of Murray. Our adult children have animals called, Walter, Paddy and Teddy, Jaeger (a horse) Friends have just named a puppy Hunter. Have fun with your new dog.

Watermeadow those names have made my day grin

MissAdventure Fri 30-Oct-20 20:37:35

Watermeadow I love those names.
My pregnant friend said that if her baby was a girl, her big brother could name her.
The avengers was popular at the time, so her daughter was called Purdy. smile

Never let a child name a pet. That way we got a cat called Lawn Mower and a hamster called Finger.
For a baby boy Schnauzer I’d choose Thomas or Eric or Harold.

Mum and Dad are Doris and Yoda - how about "YORIS"? grin

I've just come back from walking my dogs in the woods and I met a minature Shnauzer called WALTER. Lovely little chap who suited his name.

grin

Or Wolfgang maybe?

What ever name you choose try bellowing the name first!

Our dogs are named after our favourite team's footballers, past or present, usually with 2 syllables, as that makes the dog easier to call. Everyone's favourite footballer at the moment seems to be Marcus

soop Fri 30-Oct-20 13:43:43

Rory or Hamish.
