Well, fellow Argy Bargers, after some hard bargaining with
Moneybags Mike our landlord, I have managed to secure another short term lease. The scoundrel wanted ten pounds a month, but I showed him my maroon bloomers and he reduced it to seven pounds.Result!?

Thanks for the tip about valuables *GG13G. Just as well I don’t possess any.

I’ve just seen the size of your clogs. Aren’t they huge? For a smallish person you must have big feet. Probably help you to balance when the drinks are flowing so that’s a plus.

Well, your pearls are top grade plastic GG envy

lemongrove Sun 17-Jan-21 20:28:16

Anyone like to try the guest beer? It’s an interesting flavour, dark and full of body, called The Silent Killer.
1/6d a pint.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 17-Jan-21 20:27:33

Urms anything cheap goes in the Argy, I have to hide my pearls shock

lemongrove Sun 17-Jan-21 20:26:05

On second thoughts, Stanley Unwin may be better.?

lemongrove Sun 17-Jan-21 20:25:17

????????Stunning Doodle you can be the official greeter on Friday in case anyone who only speaks Germglais comes in.

Urmstongran Sun 17-Jan-21 20:22:06

Ah Doodle it’s my new tutor, Mr Google. He’s cheap. Right up my street really.

Doodle Sun 17-Jan-21 20:12:04

Er Urms you been at the poteen already? My German isn’t up to yours.. Bitte der boggen cleanen mitt der marigoldens. Ya!

lemongrove Sun 17-Jan-21 20:09:12

Sounds great MawBe you can wait tables, but watch out for
The fire station crew, they’re a cheeky lot so keep a firm hold on your steiners.

Doodle Sun 17-Jan-21 20:09:02

Mooooooooove along there Maw, there’s a queue for the bar. ?

Urmstongran Sun 17-Jan-21 20:08:34

Ooh I like the idea of blonde plaits Doodle! I think I might look rather fetching. Not sure about the clogs but I’m happy to try anything once.
?

I’m not much use in the kitchen lemongrove but I think that’s more down to laziness. I do watch Himself at home though, he’s a dab hand with a pair of Marigolds and a mop and I’m a quick learner (when I have to be).

For instance I’ve been practising my German ready for the Swiss Nite. It’s coming along nicely. What do you think?

“Hallo allerseits, ich freue mich, euch alle kennenzulernen.”

I did have an idea that Thor was ‘playing away’ the naughty boy, I shall have a word with Sexy Sadie ( the hussy) tomorrow.
I had a call from Vlad earlier, anyone remember him? The Rumanian who worked as bar staff in The Alphabet Bar?
Tall, slim, pale, jet black hair, mesmerising eyes and terrific teeth? Well, he had heard we need bar staff so wants to work with us again. The only thing is, a few customers went missing before and Vlad had a very guilty look about him.Still, we do need some help, and he’s amazingly strong and can move very fast indeed.Let’s give him a try out shall we???‍♂️

MawBe Sun 17-Jan-21 20:03:50

Heidi hi argy bargers- just getting in the mooooooooooooo-ood (see what I did there?) ?
Dirndl skirt and plaits at the ready for Friday night.

Doodle Sun 17-Jan-21 19:59:21

I will be in charge of the fondue. I will melt some lovely cheese then all we need are things to poke in it. .........where’s the Admiral when you need him.

Welcome urms and GrannyGravy . Make sure to tie up your hair in blonde plaits and wear your clogs and the three of us can do the clog dance... it’ll bring the house down......well the Argy roof isn’t too strong at the best of times.

lemongrove Sun 17-Jan-21 19:57:44

Welcome, welcome Urms are you a dab hand in the kitchen? Laura always needs help with the chef-ing, you can drop in anytime at all ( bring dusters and polish) and enjoy a pint of something ( we have some nice absinthe) and remember that Friday Nite is Swiss Nite but we have a special
Nite every Friday.Could do Greek Nite the week after.....only I worry about my plates ( the customers may have a smashing time.)

AGAA4 Sun 17-Jan-21 19:38:02

There will be a lot of us so I will tie a cowbell to the Admiral so we know where he is at all times
You know what he's like and some staff are going commando
Much safer in bloomers.

AGAA4 Sun 17-Jan-21 19:32:53

I have made poteen Swiss style with muesli.

LauraNorder Sun 17-Jan-21 19:10:31

Swiss nite on Friday, gluhwein or poteen? We will have to have a referendum in true Swiss style.

LauraNorder Sun 17-Jan-21 19:01:25

Good evening Urms, lovely to see you.
Do you require new bloomers? Any particular colour?

Urmstongran Sun 17-Jan-21 18:37:29

Is there room for another in here? I’d love to join in too.
Do I need to keep my mask on?

LauraNorder Sun 17-Jan-21 18:23:54

2015 is pretty fresh by Argy standards GG.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 17-Jan-21 18:03:16

I have some old Swiss rolls in the cupboard, I am sure they will be ok (circa2015) ?

LauraNorder Sun 17-Jan-21 17:13:00

I have got a good deal on the emmental, Cheesy Charlie said I could have it half price if I just take the holes.

LauraNorder Sun 17-Jan-21 17:08:24

GG in spite of your commando status you can still accompany us to Sexy Sadies, we need someone to carry the bags, bloomers of certain sizes can be very heavy.

AGAA4 Sun 17-Jan-21 16:55:30

Lemon did you know Thor was moonlighting in Sexy Sadie's. He is working in the other part of the shop Sexy Sadie's Bikinis - for those up to size 10. He helps out in the changing rooms.
