Just had a notification from Sainsbury's about today's delivery.

They can't deliver our PG Tips or my wine!! The end of the world is obviously nigh!:grin

Could be a good idea to guard against any problems in the future by having a bottle of gin tucked away for emergencies!

I get my wine from Laithwaites now.
It is really good.
Not as cheap as Sainsbury’s or Aldi but still reasonably priced for someone who is not very knowledgable but enjoys nice wine.
It is my only vice?

Aren't PG tips and Yorkshire produced by the same company? Had this mentioned to me a while back and started looking at supermarket shelf labels. Several showing PG Tips had in very small print Yorkshire Tea and vice versa. I buy whichever one is on offer.

The auto-choice is set by "he who must be obeyed" Nannan2... I think you and I would both^ get knuckles rapped!

Nannan2 Thu 05-Nov-20 10:20:20

Thanks Not Spaghetti- whose got no sense who 'sets' the auto picker up then?? -I could not do the choosing job- id have to actually use my common sense instead to pick actual real subs for a customer that made sense!!

For the wine try your local Majestic store. They can deliver or you can order and collect.

Oh no kitty..no wine??
Couldn't they have substituted it for a different brand?

NannyJan53 Thu 05-Nov-20 10:16:49

Just glad I don't drink tea or wine! smile

Nannan2 Thu 05-Nov-20 10:16:22

How much wine are some folk drinking to need subscriptions??ive loads left in kitchen from every time i buy a 'dine in' meal offer from M&S.And yorkshire tea (even gold) is horrid.& im originally a yorkshire woman.P.G is best! Thats why theres none left.? Presumably Boris gave shops a few days leeway to order more stuff in but they did not.....?

Nannabumble70 Thu 05-Nov-20 10:15:54

smile

Re the substitutes - apparently the "pickers" don't have a choice. There is an automatic substitute and they have to use it.

Teetime Thu 05-Nov-20 10:15:15

No sausages for me from Ocado today! Just fancied a nice sausage. grin

Gymstagran Thu 05-Nov-20 10:13:55

Just had my tesco delivery, no substitutions. Mind you I didn't order wine or tea. I did get my chococino ?

Coconut Thu 05-Nov-20 10:11:05

Ive just ordered 2 brilliant wine advent calendars to be delivered to my 2 sons and their wives as a lockdown treat .... redwhiteandcru.wine

Nannan2 Thu 05-Nov-20 10:09:49

(Toyed fleetingly with idea of serving it up to sons on xmas day & telling them it was sainsburys idea of their 'pudding'? ..but decided against it) ...??

Nannan2 Thu 05-Nov-20 10:06:18

I once ordered a chocolate ice cream bombe from sainsburys (last xmas) as an alternative desert cause neither of my sons like xmas pud(!) What i got was a bath bomb! I asked delivery driver "whats this?I didnt order it" he peered closely at it, then at my invoice & said "its a substitute, for the ice cream bombe!" I said "well take it back, i dont even have a bath!" ?? (walk-in shower only here) ive had allsorts of weird & wonderful subs for stuff over the years- makes me wonder if those choosing shopping have any sense, let alone common sense- or maybe they're doing it on purpose& laughing like drains bagging them up! ??

Grandmabeach Thu 05-Nov-20 10:05:20

Just received my Sainsburys order with no rice. Swap you some PG tips for Rice kittylester?

Nannan2 Thu 05-Nov-20 09:56:25

lemsip Thu 05-Nov-20 09:32:33

BlueSky Thu 05-Nov-20 09:25:57

You should allow them to substitute during lockdown, at least you would get something! brew wine

Lucca Thu 05-Nov-20 09:09:38

So is tomato juice.....

GrannyGravy13 Thu 05-Nov-20 09:07:18

?????

kittylester Thu 05-Nov-20 09:06:54

The really upsetting thing is that I gave dd1 some tea a couple of weeks ago as we had loads and she had none. Daft idea that was.

Prune juice is revolting!! harri.

Cabbie21 Thu 05-Nov-20 09:02:00
