Yes, where’s our EV ?

Good morning all from a grey Glasgow at the moment but hopefully the promised sunshine will appear later.

My low mood has lifted and a flare up of peripheral neuropathy which caused sleepless nights found me taking stronger meds. which floor me but things are looking up as it is slowly abating. ?

To keep myself busy, I having been power washing which took two days to do but how satisfying and therapeutic to see a job well done as opposed to talking about doing it for weeks.

DD1 and the girls came down after school a couple of days ago. Toasting marshmallows which the girls love but not DH and I, they were revolting but we ate one each anyway. We had music playing quietly but when DD heard a favourite Sweet Caroline, she turned up the volume slightly and started dancing, I joined her and the girls were in fits of giggles at Mummy and Granny dancing. A happy day to lift our spirits.

Have a pleasant day whatever you have planned.

Good morning from misty North Yorkshire.
Zoom charity AGM this morning. Hopefully the weather will have picked up so I can go out for a walk later. No fireworks here last night. We have our ‘Thankful Village’ display tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Good morning from Staffordshire.

We left home at 4.45 for a very foggy two hour drive to look after DGS.I always drive here and DH drives home.I could feel the tension in my shoulders as I was driving through the fog.The journey is mainly country lanes, beautiful on a fine day but not so great on a foggy November morning.

Sorry to hear your sad news Mary. The poor family, what a lot of suffering.

Stilllearning ?

Hope Ellan is ok,I haven’t seen her post is for a couple of days?

Thinking of you all, stay safe, strong and take care.

Good morning from a lovely sunny Suffolk seaside. A bit nippy but bright and calm.

Yesterday was warm and we got a lot done in the garden. DH drastically reducing (decimating) shrubs and bushes . They ll grow back, he says. Me cutting branches a twigs and clearing up after him. Got hit on the head twice by flying bits of Tree. ?.

Sorry to hear the sad news *Marydoll’. ?

Sorry to hear of GNetters who are down . Let’s look forward to Christmas however it will be. We can still decorate our houses, inside and out and have a tasty Christmas dinner and watch cheesy festive films on TV. Let’s look forward to a merry time. ??.

Lovely pics with sunrise skies and glorious views on here this morning. I’ll send my beach view.

We heard no fireworks here last night. The big display in nearby town was cancelled and we have very few houses along here with no children, so all quiet on the ‘Eastern ‘front.

I’m glad as little pooch doesn’t like them. ?

‘Pittcity* have you decided where you will be moving to?

Take care all and find something exciting to do ???.

Good morning all from East Staffordshire. Very cold and the usual 6th of November fog is in the air. My poor doggie last night was hiding under a table in the tiniest of spaces all night, I cannot make her feel better about all the fireworks☹️
I nearly forgot I was at work today, I got the dog and I ready for a long walk when it occurred to me it was actually Friday. Quick trot around the park and off to work I go?
I do hope you are all feeling ok and you will stay safe to protect yourselves and others so we can end this crazy year❤️

ginny Fri 06-Nov-20 08:18:40

Another Misty Good Morning from N. Bucks.
Relived that DD has had her tests but now a wait until early next week for the results.
Made 4 dozen mince pies and stored them away in the freezer yesterday
Bits and bobs to do today and will be having home made pizza this evening.
Will probably try to settle down to some sewing and crochet.
Hope everyone finds a ? today.

Good morning to all the early risers! Well, I haven't actually risen, but I have opened the curtains and snuck back into bed. It is a beautiful morning here on the Angus coast with the rising sun casting a rosy glow, and the sky a cloudless blue. They say happiness lies in appreciating the small things, so who can fail to be happy on mornings like this. I have nothing planned for today, but yesterday was a great day. Again, the weather was beautiful - although I was in the Hall from nine until one and saw little of it. But the tai chi classes were good and it's so lovely to see everybody. The first class had its full complement of nine, all socially distanced, so there wasn't room for me to do the set with them, but it was lovely to watch their movements - very calming and relaxing. Now that class time is so short, I only have time for ten minutes of actual teaching with each group, but with the groups being so small and spaced out I can see what everyone's doing and tailor the teaching to fit. If the world ever gets back to normal I won't go back to the big classes if I can help it! As usual I was exhausted by the end of the morning but when I got home I sat in the sun by the pond for a while and decided the water needed topping up. I set up the hose and then went in, had lunch - and promptly fell asleep. Let's just say the pond is full and that part of the garden is well watered!

Marydoll you are ever resourceful and I'm sure your broken digestives did the job! My DGD has taken on your recipe now and made me a tray last week - scrumplicious is the word!

Lovely photos "Ashcombe* - I can almost breathe in that lovely fresh sea air just by looking at them. And what a lovely rosy sunrise Grandmattie. As others have said before, it's lovely having the photos posted.

It's very sad to hear about your DH's friend Marydoll. My DD's FiL also picked up his Covid while an in-patient and is now gravely ill. What's that old saying - East West, home's best? It certainly seems to be where we are safest from Covid, that's for sure.

Right, the sun is very definitely risen so time to get up and enjoy the day. Have the best day you possibly can, productive or not, alone in lockdown or not. Let's hope the sun does plenty of shining in your lockdown. ????

gillgran Fri 06-Nov-20 08:14:49

Good Morning to you all from a foggy start to the day in Cambs., forecast is for another sunny day.

Sorry to hear your sad news Marydoll, it does bring this awful situation home to us all when we hear of this.

grandMattie, farview & brook2704, I've not seen your mojos, I've been saying that my "get-up-&-go" has "got-up-&-gone"...!!

I'm loving the photos on here, thank you all.

Take Care, all you good folk

Stilllearning Fri 06-Nov-20 08:14:34

Good morning from a very misty S Lanarkshire. Back home this morning from my wee holiday on the farm., it was a lovely break and I’ll try and post a picture of the view from the cottage. If no picture appears I haven’t succeeded!
Yesterday was tough, my little son’s anniversary, I hate 5th November, it exhausts me trying not to think of that awful day. Onward and upward today, much to be grateful for.
Peaceful wishes to all

baubles Fri 06-Nov-20 08:14:06

Top of the morning Mick, enjoy your day. Good morning everyone. It’s a ‘misty, moisty morning’ here in South Lanarkshire, not sure how the weather will pan out.

Haha Marydoll that brought back memories of an empty at my house which made my 17 year old DD a legend in her peer group and resulted in many cryptic comments in her year book at the end of term.

I’m sorry to hear your sad news. thanks

Yesterday was fairly productive, the house is clean and tidy so today will be a little more relaxing. Himself will golf this afternoon and I may very well treat myself to an old film and some crocheting.

I wish you well whatever the day brings.

aggie Fri 06-Nov-20 08:09:47

Good Morning all, dull but dry here , yesterday it never brightened much , but not as cold as it had been
GD ended up back in A+E after being sent home with a splint on her painful wrist/hand , on review the Radiologist discovered a break in the Scaphoid bone so plaster for 6 weeks
Her cousin also came off a skateboard and broke her wrist so they can exchange notes !
I am out of milk so I need to shuffle round to the farm shop . Nothing else planned for today
Thinking of missing , poorly and sad posters xxx

Parsley3 Fri 06-Nov-20 08:07:56

Good morning all from a cold Forth Valley. I am glad that the 5th is over as I am not a fan of fireworks.

cornergran Fri 06-Nov-20 08:03:54

Morning Mick, morning All from a very misty corner of Somerset. Hope it clears for our booked NT stroll later or we’ll need a torch. The sunshine has reclaimed some of my mojo, about to plan tasks for the next month so we can achieve something rather than sit it out. Notice I say plan, whether it will turn into action remains to be seen. That’s sad news mary, It does make covid feel close to home. Hugs for anyone wanting one, special thoughts as always for those with heavy hearts. Take care everyone, it’s a strange world out there.

Urmstongran Fri 06-Nov-20 08:02:06

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s so misty I can’t even see the sea! Warm though. Hot sunshine forecast from Sunday so I can’t complain.

Unsettled dreams last night about slippery eels. I was quite scared.

No plans for today. We shall go for a walk as it’s getting brighter even as I tap out this message. Boy - the little green parakeets are noisy! Later I will finish my book. Takeaway pizza for tea I think. No fireworks here either - not at all like the UK. I bet Spanish pets are grateful.

Hope Friday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Jaxjacky Fri 06-Nov-20 08:01:13

Good morning all from a bright, chilly S Hants. Sad news Marydoll indeed.
One of today’s jobs is clearing out and packing up the glory hole under the sink, a bin bag will be handy for all those bottles lurking with a minuscule amount of whatever in them!
Small under counter fridge and freezer are defrosting prior to new weekend homes. At some point over the next day or so I need to get my car ensconced in one of the parking spaces across the road, prior to skip delivery on Monday. Cottage pie for dinner tonight, oh and washing to be done. The w machine is going too tomorrow, will be using DD’s next week if needed whilst she’s at work.
Wishing you all a calm day.

Pittcity Fri 06-Nov-20 07:58:57

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
I have an empty too Marydoll as DHs isolation has ended and he went fishing at stupid o'clock.
Unfortunately I have to clean as someone is coming to view our house this afternoon.
Will fit in a walk to Lidl. Having takeaway tonight to support the local economy.

Nanabanana1 Fri 06-Nov-20 07:54:00

Good morning everyone from a fine and bright Torbay, back home from my visit to Cheshire, got back last week so didn’t break any rules, daughter well after her surgery.
Ashcombe perhaps you would like to join the Gransnet coffee morning we have in Paignton once a month after lock down of course, they are a lovely friendly bunch of ladies.
Butchers delivery and ironing today - I certainly know how to live?
Stay safe all.

Beauregard Fri 06-Nov-20 07:53:05

Marydoll flowers. Sorry to hear your sad news.

harrigran Fri 06-Nov-20 07:50:45

Good morning from an overcast but dry NE.
Highlight of yesterday was to see my sister at the top of my drive for fifteen minutes.
DD in Brussels took delivery of her new car, quite a complicated procedure as their lockdown is even stricter than ours. Hopefully when things improve she will be able to drive to Germany to see her aunt.
It was a very noise evening yesterday, sounded more like a war sone than bonfire night, I do wish they would ban this money burning tradition.
Sad news Marydoll flowers

Beauregard Fri 06-Nov-20 07:39:12

Good morning from Derbyshire where it's misty now but the sun is expected to put in an appearance later.

During yesterdays supermarket shop I found myself putting mars bars in my trolley! So you know what I'll be making soon! Marydoll your mars bar cake is becoming legendary! Well I do have a box of coco pops in the cupboard (bought for when the boys stay over, which won't be happening for a while) that need using up.

A walk out is on the cards today with a visit to check the girls (horses) are alright after their ordeal by fireworks last night. They'll probably be very jumpy today.

Hope everyone is feeling well today. flowers to those who aren't, or have worries or sadness.

brook2704 Fri 06-Nov-20 07:36:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it promises to be another bright sunny autumn day. Yesterday was lovely, quite cold but with a clear blue sky so I got well wrapped up and sat out in the garden for a little while. I don’t know why it is but I feel so much better when outside.
I wish all these missing mojos would just stop partying and return home grandmattie we do need them don’t we!
So sorry to hear about the sad news marydoll please continue to stay safe and enjoy your empty today
What a lovely kind DD you have nannyjan
No school pick up today so a longish walk is planned but not sure where yet
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

kittylester Fri 06-Nov-20 07:27:27

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

I have ironing spilling out of the cupboard so I'd better do that at sometime. I have an empty this afternoon so will relish that.

Have the best day possible everyone. And life to gilly.

NannyJan53 Fri 06-Nov-20 07:26:17

If you lived nearer NanKate I would be happy to oblige wink

mumofmadboys Fri 06-Nov-20 07:23:19

Good morning all from Cumbria! Thinking of those who are by themselves and finding the isolation difficult. I have two bridge matches today. Other than that just housework and making a roast meal. Going for usual cycle ride shortly. Keep safe everyone
