Wow! Gorgeous *Laura". I love red amongst the green.
I am procrastinating and need to stop!
Using the Verb Get or variations of Get

Wow! Gorgeous *Laura". I love red amongst the green.
Thank you Taichinan and your autumn photos are lovely, added more of the profusion of berries this year
Just popped back in to add my "Beautiful autumn" pictures to the Good Morning Album. So Laura order, don't not post because you come late to the feast. There's lots of us who pop in later for a quick catch up. Then you can enjoy your long lies and the Good Morning thread! ?
Good morning all!
Well I have a Marydoll empty at the moment. My OH has gone to see his DM. Her guttering has come down at the back of the house so he has gone to fix it. Thats the good thing having a builder in the family, no waiting around for someone to come out and no massive bill!
I sent her Christmas cake over with him as I may not see her before the big day.
I have the bread maker going and I am just having a break (!) glancing through GN before I set to cleaning the fish tank!
Earlier I rang the hospital to see if my tablets were ready for collection (its 20 minute drive away) and they said they would send them by courier as I shouldn't be out in lockdown! Now there is service!
I waiting for the delivery of a Fire tablet and a Fire stick today so setting them up is my job for later.
Sorry to hear your sad news Marydoll and Gwen.
Love and hugs to all who need them and yes EV where are you, I hope its only a problem with your internet.
good morning from a stunningly beautiful day in the north of Scotland. I’ve been in the woods trying to up my mojo. It is strange to be walking around so often alone instead of with friends. My walking friends are shielding. I survived a neighbour’s new puppy round me in circles still on the lead. She is struggling to socialise her because she has to walk alone too (other than the dog).
I’m with you grandmaFrench on the gadgets to make life easier. still browsing the handheld steam cleaners as the reviews are so varied. We used to talk about not buying a Monday or Friday item as the quality would be poorer but surely that can’t apply nowadays?
Off to to have my coffee, sit out wrapped up and watch my sheets on the line.
annsixty. You sound so much brighter I am happy for you.
Have the best day you can all.
That’s an awful way to receive sad news Gwenisgreat. Sorry to hear that and sympathy to all who have lost someone dear.
Good morning all from dry bright Anglesey. I’m afraid I’m a late riser so won’t post often but enjoy reading all the catch up news. Lots of lovely photos, especially seeing the sun rise, I rarely see that for real!
Do all stay well and safe
Good Morning all from nondescript Harrogate
Sad News, indeed Marydoll. Yesterday on-line I found a photo of my cousin's gravestone - no-one told me she had died!! It just says 2020 on it and her year of birth!! Is this the way it's done in Canada? She lived in Ontario. Thought one of her off-spring might have let me know!!
Note - one less christmas card!!
Made one Christmas cake yesterday, will make another tomorrow for my DD. I do my Xmas pudds in the microwave and they don't need to be made just yet
Stay safe everyone, it's looking optimistic for a vaccine soon!!
Morning everyone, I don’t post really, not much to say!
Was wondering about PurplePixie, she didn’t seem too good last time she posted..... hope you’re ok Purple!
Good morning,
There are some beautiful photos as I'm scrolling down the posts today - such beautiful skies. Not the same here in South Yorkshire I'm afraid, it's still very misty and murky here, and isn't showing signs of lifting just yet, though it's supposed to, so we will see.
There were lots of fireworks last night around and about so I got a good view from an upstairs window for 10 minutes or so whilst dinner was cooking. Very pretty, but very loud which will have frightenened a lot of animals, I'm sure. My take on there being so many this year is because there couldn't be any organised events so people decided to do their own as a way of having some cheer in these dark times. I might be wrong, of course.
Sorry to read your sad news, marydoll. No wonder your consultant says it's not safe for you to go to hospital just yet.
Not sure of my plans today, other than to make a pizza base later. Think I'll just let the day unfold ?.
Take care everyone, and ? to all with sadness or worries.
Good morning all from a very bright Stockport.
I had to smile reading Gelisa’s post, when my H was well we spent a lot of time in the Lake District, we were very keen walkers .
Once we were sitting having a snack by one of the quieter lakes, you could park right by the lakeshore.
A transit type van pulled up next to us and out came two large men in uniform, obviously guards.
They opened the doors of the vehicle and out poured a dozen or so young men , the guards instructed them to take off outer clothes , they all wore trunks and race down to the lake into the water.
The language which came forth when they were in I had never heard before or since
The water must have been icy, they must have been so shocked.
We didn’t know whether to laugh or appear shocked,.
The guards thought it hilarious.
Another one here with a blank day ahead though a trip to Tesco is needed. It is interesting that so many of us feel so flat and struggling to stay positive. At least the weather is on our side again today so perhaps a little potter in the garden may help.
Missing Ellan and hoping she is all right. Worrying when a regular doesn’t post for a couple of days.
Good morning all - another glorious day here so one load of washing out and another in the machine! Little Flynn laughed at me when he was here running my machine for just two jumpers and a pair of trousers . It is wasteful I know but I hate seeing the laundry basket with things in it for a week or so!
I have no idea what I am going to do today - maybe read or get on with the throw I am knitting for D - that might be for Christmas 2021 at this rate.
Sobering news indeed Marydoll - it does make us all think.
However, hoping you all keep safe and have as pleasant a day as circumstances permit.
Kalu far too much dancing around the house to Sweet Caroline, when I was almost full term, resulted in my producing a ? musician ?It’s been a family joke forever.
That’s such a brilliant story, Gelisa - my OH is still laughing. No wonder the guy needed to film it. Keep nagging your DS!
Yes, where are you Ellan?
Gingster staying in Colchester, just downsizing.
Good morning folks from a sunny but nippy Cheshire! Nothing planned for today here, but will pop out to pick up the prescription later and will probably detour through the park for a quick 'commune with nature'.
Thinking of everyone who is troubled in body or spirit and isn't finding the day particularly joyous.
Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay. More gardening for me today. Lots of grass cutting. It’s the edging that’s a bind then clearing the grass gutters. We don’t usually do this one, but the lady whose borders we do has been let down by her hedges and lawns man. He’s disappeared without a by your leave.
Yesterday’s gardening in Keswick was quite successful in that we managed to get enough done as not to need going back until next year. It’s an enormous garden and there’s always something to be done. It’s hard work as it’s on a steep hill.
After we had finished it was still just about light. We drove down to the lake shore to relax with a cup of tea before heading home so glad to have gone in the little camper. A car pulled up at the side of us, the driver got out, erected a tripod and a mobile phone, stripped off to his underwear, and proceeded to walk into the lake and started swimming. He swam out, stopped, ducked right under the water, then swam back! He passed the time of day with a couple of paddle boarders then swam out again. He returned, grabbed his towel, got dry, took his tripod and phone went back to his car and drove off. Our kettle hadn’t even boiled! We decided he must have been doing a challenge. When I suggested he was stupid, DH reminded me he used to swim in in the Lake. “Not in November” I said.
DS1 is at the coughing and shortness of breath stage. He says he feels better of himself. I told him to stay in bed! So far the children seem ok though he says he hasn’t seen them as they have taken to their rooms and only emerge to find food.
There’s a lot of missing mojo this morning. If I find it I’ll send it back! Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good Morning everyone from a warm but overcast South of France. Glorious day yesterday. Went for a walk in 21 degrees through the vineyard. Would have been perfect save for the mask and sunglasses combo and the occasional puff of steam!
stilllearning hope you took comfort from that incredible scenery and you managed to struggle through a day you dreaded by being near your family. ? Some lovely morning photos on display. It’s such a bonus being able to be outside and it does wonders for spirit lifting. That is the place all those mojos have run off to.....walk somewhere beautiful or peaceful, take a deep breath and I reckon they’ll all come running back again.
The awful toll of sickness and loss is never far away. Sad for you, Mary and all who have lost or know someone who has suffered a loss. Let’s not take our eye off the ball.....keeping ourselves well and safe must be number one on our lists now. Nothing matters if we don’t have our health - maybe a cliché, but it’s true.
So pleased your meds are working, Hazbeen, but rest, remember? ?
Miss the spectacular firework displays - on Bastille Day - all cancelled this year, but so glad that 5th November isn’t in my calendar any more. The madness of selling fireworks to individuals who just want to add to the noise at any time between Hallowe’en and New Year’s Day, I fail to understand. My English Vet used to speak about the problems it created for endless animals - he felt that it was downright cruel. Hope your little pooch soon forgets, Scentia.
Had a very enjoyable Zoom wine and nibbles with lovely English friends last night. These occasions do still make me feel quite emotional, though. Wonder if I’m alone in this. Just keep thinking “how much longer do we have to wait?”
Sun’s out, so off for a 2 minute blitz of my terrace and courtyard with my gorgeous new leaf blower. It works like a dream, is cordless, and saves endless sweeping.
Have a good day - try hard for that - everyone. Do hope your young family members get their limbs back in working order very soon, aggie.
Hugs to all, especially those with pain or worry. ??????
Lovely photo from Gingster, too.
Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very misty South Yorkshire. We were supposed to be out walking this morning, so I hope it lifts! This afternoon we have to nip over to DD’s with some bits and pieces. The lawns had their last cut yesterday and I got a bit of garden tidying done. Nasturtiums are still flowering their heads off and my bulbs are coming through. No idea what’s for supper today - have to put my thinking cap on! Have a good safe day folks.
Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London, where it’s chilly. I woke up at about 7.15, so didn’t see any lovely sunrise here. Thus I enjoyed the lovely photos this morning from Ashcombe, grandMattie, Sar and stilllearning.
Yesterday my neighbour arrived at the door with some deserts from her daughters wedding. They had to have a small celebration and plan something larger next year. They are Muslims from India and traditionally would have had a very large wedding party.
She brought us Rice Kheer, which is a sweet rice pudding made with cashew nuts, almonds, rosewater and cardamom and Gulab Jamun, which are dough balls in syrup.
We very much enjoyed them.
I hope all is well with MellowYellow, who hasn’t posted for a while.
Thinking of those facing challenges today, good morning to gillybob and wishing everyone a pleasant day. ?
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning All from a quiet, grey Polmont. I slept well last night and feel the better for it this morning. What lovely photos on the thread this morning. It's nice to have something pleasant to look at. I always wanted to live near the sea or to have a view. When I was younger we lived right under the Ochil hills and it was so peaceful. You could watch the weather come down over the hills. Mick enjoy your fish and chips. Marydoll enjoy your 'empty' but such sad news about your friend. Definitely stay home and keep safe. It won't be forever. I had lost my mojo but it came back, temporarily I'm sure, yesterday. I did some housework but rattled on with Christmas shopping on the Internet. I have lots organised now and stuff being delivered from today on. Ds's birthday is soon so I'll get moving on that today. I'll clean out the spare bedroom today I think as long as my mojo stays. Stillearning ?
Good morning from a very misty West/York's bathroom nearly finished can't wait to get a shower ?.washing in sink reminds me of when we didn't have a bathroom and dad built a sink in bedroom .to all feeling down hope mojos are found ☺
Good morning from a bright but chilly Northampton; there is frost on the summerhouse roof. Sitting with a mug of tea and biscuits while I wait for some raspberries to thaw out for my breakfast - Scotch pancakes with raspberries and chopped dried apricots and maybe a glass of orange juice.
Towels are in the washing machine and the cats are cuddled up on the radiator bed; they know when it's cold out! Bit of washing up to do, then tidy round and run the Hoover over downstairs.
Am expecting to go over to DD's later on, thank goodness it's still ok for people in the same bubble to get together.
Hope the day goes well for us all.
