Hello Rufus, wondered where you were. Glad to hear things are going well in Melbourne, still plenty of doom and gloom here but hoping for better. Weather last couple of days quite nice in the morning, actually took our little stroll out with walking sticks, kicking up the autumn leaves??. Heard from g.son in NSW, he said its warming up there too like you.
I found a website where Icould send him a present for his birthday, arrived this week after several emails from Australia Mail, re delivery ,really good service.
Hope you and Freda are enjoying ‘freedom’ and pumping iron)!!
Keep well

Cheers ????????

Hi Rufus, very good news on your ‘free’ status, let’s see where we are in another three weeks or so ??my car will be almost stationary now! And it’s raining! quite mild though, about 12, very autumnal with the tree colours, as you said. Yes, not a good shout from Man City, but most exciting for me and fellow Saints supporters was Friday, when Southampton went top of the premiership, whoop, whoop...for the first time wanted ManU to win Saturday to keep us there another day..thank goodness sport is still going ahead in these cheerless times. Has Freda been out yet?
Stay safe ?

I have always wished for my computer to be as easy to use as my telephone; Now I can no longer figure out how to use my telephone.!

Good Evening!
What has been going on!? I turn my back for a few days and Grandads have disappeared right, left and centre. No explanations, no nothing! I seem to be the only ACTIVE one left standing, so hard luck!
Very good news from Melbourne as you’ve probably heard; 10 straight days without a single new Case or death.
Lockdown restrictions are being lifted rapidly; I can now pump iron again at the “fitness centre”, relax at the cinema in the posh armchairs quaffing a “complimentary” glass of wine and savouring finger food!
The “Ring of Steel” has been torn down. Rumour has it that it will be recycled into medals marking VC-19 Day in recognition of our sterling efforts of self control.
Although wowsers are cautioning that whilst 2020 has turned out to be a terrible year, the 21st decade might turn out to be equally terrible!

On a brighter note, the 25km radius limit on travel from home has been abolished, except that the inter-state borders are still closed.
But it’s all good news for small business’, apart of course from those that were driven to the wall at the beginning of lockdown. Now we can get out there and spend all those dollars we’ve been forced to save and get the economy humming again!

What on earth was Kevin De B. thinking of, missing that penalty and what would have been a match-winning goal; against the Scousers too! sad

Our OAP school is slowly opening up where classes can observe social-distancing
rules, but Computer classes are continuing via Zoom because of the way the room is set up. That’s OK; no dressing up needed!

It’s possible a coincidence that whilst our 2nd Covid wave reached a peak in mid winter,
our weather has been warming up gradually with a current hot spell; 30C by day and a minimum 17C tonight. Lovely!

Our latest copy of the quarterly mag. “This England” containing some beautiful pictures of the Yorkshire Dales has just arrived. Absolutely marvellous quality and everywhere dressed up in Autumn colours! Worth every (new) penny.

We had a TV doco the other evening all about UK chocolate, featuring largely Aldi and its links with a long-established biscuit company in Preston’ Talk about mouth-watering!
A highlight was a full scale sculpture made of solid chocote of Boris kitted out as when Lord Mayor he was stuck up in the air on that “high-wire”; complete with crash-helmet! smile

Well, we are all saddened and feeling sorry for your present Covid Problems and indeed for all your European neighbours. sad
