Why do they do that!

I was listening to a programme on local radio this morning - a guest was explaining his political views (different to mine). He was measured, clear and concise and I was very interested in his viewpoint.

The interviewer kept interrupting, not with questions or asking for clarification of a point but with her own views and opinions. If they consider someone interesting enough to invite onto the programme, why don't they let him/her speak without interruption

Quite!

Chris Mason does the same on Any Questions, such an irritation.

I could not agree more Oldwoman,
so many interviewers do this. They don’t seem to realise that most of us tune in to hear the views of the guest. They always seem to cut in as the point is about to be made.
The other thing I don’t like is the length of the question, often asked again in five different ways before they finally stop talking.

Exactly Oldwoman70/Namsnanny.

Annoying. Questionnaires are too handy at butting in and I'm sure they don't fully listen to any answers that are given. It's as if they like the sound of their own voices. A horrible trait.

I used to always have radio 5live on during the mornings, then along came Emma Barnett and she is terrible for interrupting people and voicing her own opinion. I now leave the radio off. Another one to join the same channel in the afternoons,Nehal Enkernika, is another one who likes his own opinion too much.
