The more tenuous and obscure the better!
My aunty went out with the bloke who designed * both*
A) the Cadbury's Chocolate Orange packaging, and
B) Buzby, the British Telecom mascot

Sorry FC I think I misread your post - did you mean you would do a short list?

Yes - I'll do a short list of around ten.
Don't worry, it will be very democratic.
(I was in charge of running the School Council in my last post, so you can be assured that you are in safe hands.smile)

slapped him across the face .... good grief! That's assault.

I worked with someone who'd gone to college with Cilla and she had a few tales to tell.

Kate1949 Fri 20-Nov-20 16:23:22

I've heard many stories like that about Cilla.

narrowboatnan Fri 20-Nov-20 16:20:19

Not all ‘celebs’ are nice, are they? Telling children to eff off and so forth. When my DH was much younger and Cilla Black was just starting out, he asked her for her autograph as she was leaving a hotel. She slapped him across the face and told him to go away (but not very politely). He was never a fan after that.

Great idea. Go fir it....and don’t forget about Mick and me, even though it might not be tenuous enough, I can’t help but wonder how my life would have turned out had I become Mrs Sir Mick.

We really should vote a top ten. There are some crackers! grin

I'm on it.
Shall we leave it open until midnight tomorrow, and I'll compile a list for us to vote on?
What do you think?
Is this a plan?

(Can you tell that I've got a lot of time on my hands? grin)

I think you should should draw up a short list FC and then we vote for our top whatever.

MissAdventure Fri 20-Nov-20 16:16:01

Will it upset anyone?
Probably.
On balance though, I think that's a great idea if you want to put in the work and not me.

I was a film extra in the film’Catch Us if you Can’ with
The Dave Clark Five.
This was in 1960 something.
Anyone remember that?

MissAdventure Fri 20-Nov-20 16:09:43

grin
That's brilliantly tenuous.

silverlining48 Fri 20-Nov-20 16:07:20

How tenuous is this, I was in an underwear shop in Bluewater and the staff told me that posh spice had just bought the same pjs as me. They could hardly contain themselves in their excitement.
I never saw posh so had to take their word for it. smile

Alioop Fri 20-Nov-20 16:05:22

I had to go to charity dinners with my ex husband's work and there was always a celebrity at our table and the room was full of them. Chris Eubank was at our table and I asked him for an autograph and he pulled out a big bunch of signed photos of himself and presented me with one. Says it all really. Oh and poor Bob Holness was constantly asked all night for a P....

Coppernob Fri 20-Nov-20 16:04:13

Thank you silverlining48.

LadyO Fri 20-Nov-20 16:04:03

When I was at the basin having the colour washed off my hair at the hairdressers, Tess Daly stole my chair, I had to go and rescue my book and handbag and slink off to another chair for my blow dry.?

No no no no! angry

You most definitely have not "topped the lot"! envy

In fact you are probably right at the bottom of the pile.

This thread is about rubbish claims to fame.

On this thread Bernie Clifton trumps Mother Teresa; HMQ; Elvis Presley etc.
I give up sad
