Hi Kim I heard the result on the radio earlier and thought of you!
Who did you want to win?
I bet that you'll really miss it.

Kim19 Sun 20-Dec-20 05:53:12

Hi all! Just lying here enjoying your bits and pieces. Think I'm still disappointed over the Strictly result. There y'go. How trivial am I?!! One more parcel to organise for post tomorrow and I think that's me sorted.. Don't know if my plans for Friday will alter because of these latest changes in the regulations. That will be up to my hosts. Ah well........

FannyCornforth Sun 20-Dec-20 05:48:01

Damn! Just wrote a long message and then lost it?
Sparkling thanks from me too, that is so sad.
Sparkling the herbal ones are next to useless. You need one made from antihistamine.
Nytol in the blue box (dyphenhydramine) or pheneragan (I know I've spelled that wrong).
You have to ask behind the counter.

Jackie it all depends upon whether you are getting up or not! tchsmile

Sparkling - flowers

JackieBee1 Sun 20-Dec-20 05:21:58

Rain woke me up!
Is this early morning, or a late night??
Hope everyone is asleep or well rested. xxx

Sparkling Sun 20-Dec-20 05:19:25

I bought some over the counter sleeping tablets, herbal, despite taking two, still never slept. I go over and over in my head about being estranged from my daughter and family, there is nothing I can do, so it's utterly pointless, a good night it's five hours. Will try walking twice a day, not too far, but it might help.
Sorry for those in pain or housebound, it doubly hard on you.

FannyCornforth Sun 20-Dec-20 05:02:51

travelsafar and Greenfinch
Hope that you are okay and not too worried about the current circumstances.
Have your plans had to change drastically?
I permanently exist in something akin to Level 7, so nothing really affects me.
I hope that your Christmases will be happy ones, one way or another.

FannyCornforth Sun 20-Dec-20 04:28:33

Loads of typos tchhmm

Hello again!
I love Educating Rita. It's great on the radio too (much like ^Peer Gynt^tchwink).

I saw it at our local theatre once, but it was awful. The woman playing Rita just did a syllable by syllable impersonation of Walters.
We left at half time.

One of my tenuous claims to fame is that my very first best friend's mom and best friends with Julie when they were young. I think that they went to a convent school. Julie was very naughty, just as you'd want her to be tchsmile

It's also one of my dad's favourite films. He's very pleasingly in touch with his feminine side when it comes to things like that. He's obsessedwith Pride and Predudice. Every birthday and Chris I buy him something Austen related. Last Christmas I bought him a Jane Austen action figure! The year before that I got him P&P which had photo illustrations of Guinea pigs acting it out. The girl gps all wore bonnets. Bless them.

George'sgran oh, I know all about the middle of the night eating. I am becoming a connoisseur of Messrs M&S's biscuits (current favourites: golden crunch and sultana cookies).
In the spirit of local radio: 'what's your favourite biscuit?'

Welcome Barmeyoldbat and Blastedcat! I must say Barmey - you've got one of my favourite user names.

Right. I'm going to drink my chocolate ovaltine (no biscuits, yet...)

Barmeyoldbat Sun 20-Dec-20 04:01:34

going to bed as i am sleepy, will try not to wake the blasted cat who is sleeping in her shoe box. night or morning all.

Greenfinch Sun 20-Dec-20 03:45:04

Yes I am thinking about that travelasfar. Can't believe we who once were tier 1 are now tier 4. The news coming so late is bound to upset lots of people.

travelsafar Sun 20-Dec-20 03:35:24

Wide awake for last hour, have tried reading but not working at making me sleepy. Thinking about all that has happened to Christmas and the change to tier4. Will try again to settle down and hopefully stop thinking about it all!!!

Georgesgran Sun 20-Dec-20 03:33:05

Just into my bed now - I generally sleep quite well, but my problem is I don’t need much. That leads to another problem - eating! Years ago there was a programme on radio about why people who have insomnia tend to be fatter and no-one seemed to mention having to eat an extra meal - well that’s my excuse anyway.
Hot water bottle tonight. Hope other NOs have a good rest. X

FannyCornforth Sun 20-Dec-20 03:31:24

Good morning (ish) Night Owlsmoon
Back in a mo...

Barmeyoldbat Sun 20-Dec-20 02:44:26

Good morning everyone. Usually I sleep like a baby and nothing disturbs me but tonight our teenage cat decided she wanted to play running up the stairs into the bathroom and jumping in the bath. It woke me, so I got up, closed the bathroom door and came downstairs, threw a log on the fire and settled down on the sofa. The delinquent cat has followed me and is now settled in her shoe box to sleep. So in a minute I am going to read for a bit and that will send me to sleep. I hope.

Rufus2 Sun 20-Dec-20 02:14:33

I’m going to read for a while and will hopefully doze over
Marilla
G'Day! How are the young and the restless (legs) today! ?tchhmm
Lovely day here, sunny, not too hot 20C and just about to set off for a chish and fips lunch to make up for yesterday's disaster when I was stood -up, until YorkLady saved me from total embarrassment.
Meanwhile, I've had a quick look at some of Letitia Cropley's "Surprise" lunch recipes, but didn't fancy any somehow; not in need of a purge. tchgrin
Now you take care; I might look in again after lunch to see how you're getting on!

Just watched Forrest Gump. Realised I’d never seen it all the way through before.

Marilla Sun 20-Dec-20 02:12:16

The medication kicks in pretty quickly Nana3.
Thank you for the kind message.

Did you enjoy Educating Rita? I haven’t seen it for many years.

Nana3 Sun 20-Dec-20 01:50:18

I stayed up to watch Educating Rita, how young Julie Walters and Maureen Lipman looked.
Hope your leg pain has gone Marilla.
Good night Fanny and all night owls, sleep well.

Marilla Sun 20-Dec-20 01:41:08

Hello Night Owls.
Once again woken up with nasty leg pain. I’ve given in and taken the only if really needed medication. ?

I found a series on Prime which is quite addictive. It’s called This is Us. Highly recommend it.

I’m going to read for a while and will hopefully doze over. ?

FannyCornforth Sat 19-Dec-20 10:51:02

A belated 'good morning' from me, especially to Rufus, Nana3 and yorklady
First part of my night was awful - I had the dreaded, blooming itches. Drive you round the bend!
Slept right through after that.
Poor Rufus - having to forego his lunch...
Yorklady - I adore York. I lived there while I did my MA. I lived in an utterly bonkers building called The Hostel which belonged to The Retreat.
The Retreat was the first humane (for want of a better word) psychiatric hospital.
It has the most beautiful grounds.
Very happy days.
Hope that all Night Owls are well, maybe see you this evening or tonight x

Nana3 Sat 19-Dec-20 08:27:46

Rufus
No replies to your wakey wakey call in the wee small hours, a very good sign for all us night owls tchsmile

YorkLady Sat 19-Dec-20 07:36:32

Very healthy dinner menu, Rufus. I would choose the cheesecake but only because I can’t imagine eating ice cream in this cold winter morning ?.May take your advice about the wine, any excuse for a glass!
Will call a truce over the Northern County lines and wish you a hearty Yorkshire Good Morning/ Afternoon! ?

Rufus2 Sat 19-Dec-20 07:24:34

Rufus2 have you had lunch yet?
YorkLady Good Evening ]tchsmile
No and I'm starving. It's 6.10pm here and nobody turned up to discuss my menu so now its dinnertime.
Crumbed whiting and 3 vegies, but sadly no chips.
Whether or not to follow with lemon cheesecake and ice-cream, who knows?
Have you considered Shiraz for your nightcap instead?
Your name tells me you're in Yorkshire! tchgrin
I'm a Lancashire Lad, so I guess that's it; like ships that pass in the night! tchhmm
Good Health
OoRoo

YorkLady Sat 19-Dec-20 04:33:16

Morning all.. Rufus2 have you had lunch yet?
I’m only awake because I had a large glass of Merlot before bed and I never sleep well after drinking wine these days.
The rain is beating on the window and I’m off to get a cup of tea and crawl back into bed.
