Hello All
I'm often awake in the small hours,
for a variety of reasons which I'm sure that many are familiar with.
So I'm starting this thread for anyone in the same position.
We can chat, share our 3am worries, whatever.
If you fancy popping on for whatever reason, here is the thread for all Night Owls moon
See you later x

Thank you so much for your kind messages. It means a lot.
I will of course, keep in touch and let you know how it goes.

Ps It’s now I wish I had lost some weight! The thought of youngish staff seeing the fat rolls hanging over the undergarments is worrying! ?

Kim19 Sun 10-Jan-21 12:03:40

Hello again Marilla, bit late in the day but I just want to wish you well with your forthcoming surgery. I'll be thinking of you and look forward to hearing from you in due course. Hope it goes smoothly and you are pain free as soon as possible. Cheers!

Hello Night Owls. A couple of decent nights for me so not needed your company. Wishing you well for your surgery marilla, wonderful to anticipate being free from pain.

FannyCornforth Sun 10-Jan-21 08:05:14

Marilla sending all good wishes to you for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you.
You sound so positive about it already! PM me if you would like - as you know, I'm in a similar position, and I want all the details ( I mean that in the nicest possible way smile)

Good Morning Mollygo and Kim19. Crikey, I did sound grumpy earlier on!

A cup of tea would have gone down a treat, but the thought of getting out of a warm bed is too much to ask. ?
If my husband knew I needed a cuppa, he would jump out of bed and make one. But I don’t like waking him up.

I’m hoping after I recover from the surgery tomorrow, I’ll be free from pain and much more independent.

Kim19 Sun 10-Jan-21 04:30:55

Gosh, you're good. The very thought of getting out of my cosy nest is a deal breaker. Not a chance. Lovely here.

Mollygo Sun 10-Jan-21 04:27:16

Hi Kim19 and Marilla if you’re still awake. I decided to make a cup of tea around 2am and it worked so well I’m only just awake again now. Just debating whether to make another. At least the snow has cleared this morning so a walk will be possible.

Kim19 Sun 10-Jan-21 03:59:53

Hello Marilla, I'm well awake but it doesn't bother me one bit. I just go with the flow. Mind you, I'm retired so I don't have any pressures on that score, thank goodness. I used to find by being irritated I woke myself even further. I just turn on an old faithful film or something light and the time passes decidedly pleasantly. Hope you doze off shortly.

Marilla Sun 10-Jan-21 03:45:38

Hello to anyone out there!
Gosh, it’s so annoying to be awake at this time.
Usually I go with the flow and don’t mind too much, but tonight I am fed up. I don’t want to be stoical and read or listen to the radio with headphones. I want to sleep. ??

Mollygo Sun 10-Jan-21 01:41:24

It’s another ‘let’s not sleep night so far, but here’s hoping.
So sorry to hear about travelsafar’s loss. Thank you for letting us know.

Marilla Sun 10-Jan-21 01:15:44

Thank you Fanny for the thread.
I hope everyone is tucked up and fast asleep!

Four o’clock in the morning seems to be a busier time on here.
For anyone still awake, night night! ???

Thanks Marilla and Fanny for posting about the news of travelsafar, I have added my condolences to her thread. Such sad news for her and her family.

FannyCornforth Sat 09-Jan-21 10:36:24

PS it's in the Health section.

FannyCornforth Sat 09-Jan-21 10:35:15

Hello Marilla the thread is '111 called an ambulance'.

Marilla Sat 09-Jan-21 09:47:23

Very sad news that one of our Grans has lost her husband.
Fanny can you remember which thread the news was announced?

Kate54 Sat 09-Jan-21 09:28:48

Thanks for all good wishes re. Dentist. Got an appointment for Monday but of course the situation began to improve almost as soon as I’d put the phone down! These extractions can take a long time to settle down. Will probably cancel the appointment this morning.

Kim19 Sat 09-Jan-21 05:51:03

That is indeed sad for T. Thanks for sharing, Fanny.

FannyCornforth Sat 09-Jan-21 05:24:09

Just seen that one of our brethren's (*travelsafar*) dear husband has passed away. So very, very sad.

FannyCornforth Sat 09-Jan-21 05:21:36

-11!? Whereabouts are you Kim?
I'm not sure if I want Spring to be here just yet.
I'm one of those misunderstood people who really don't like the Summer.
I actually enjoy this time of year.

Ah,*Scentia*, what a lucky chap!

Kim19 Sat 09-Jan-21 05:12:01

Hi Fanny! Just lying here thinking what chores I will attempt today..... one rather large and heavy picture needs re-hanging. Also need wire cutters for another wee project I'm up to concerning window screens. Outside is not a prospect as forecast suggests -11! I happily note one of our topical headlines reads 'Spring will be here before we know it' How I love an optimist. Later.........

Scentia Sat 09-Jan-21 05:09:41

Morning Fanny. Up extra early with DGS so I have done what any self respecting Nanna would do; made him a cup of tea, a bagel and put Mr Bean on the TV!

FannyCornforth Sat 09-Jan-21 04:03:41

Morning all! smilemoonbrew

Marilla Fri 08-Jan-21 07:51:21

I love a Ferrero Rocher. My grandchildren always give me some for birthdays and Christmas. Small pleasures!

Thank you Fanny and Nadateturbe for good wishes.

So glad you like the thread!

FannyCornforth Fri 08-Jan-21 07:06:44

Hello nadateturbe, thank you for your kind words.
It's quite a strange thread as it has no real subject; it's like a stream of consciousness, but by lots of different people! smile

nadateturbe Fri 08-Jan-21 07:01:57

Good morning everyone. I don't normally take part in the Night Owl thread. I'm not a very chatty person.
But I wanted to say its a very cheerful thread. Just what I needed.

No snow in NI. We rarely get snow. Been awake since 4.30am. I've just completed all the Radio Times puzzles from last two editions with decaff coffee, a Rich Tea and a Ferrero Rocher.
I hope you got your tooth sorted Kate. All the best for Monday Marilla.
