Hello All
I'm often awake in the small hours,
for a variety of reasons which I'm sure that many are familiar with.
So I'm starting this thread for anyone in the same position.
We can chat, share our 3am worries, whatever.
If you fancy popping on for whatever reason, here is the thread for all Night Owls moon
See you later x

Gosh Rufus, that pastime sure travelled! G'day, by the way. Hope that's fresh Shiraz and not leftovers from yesterday!!

Madwoman11 Tue 29-Dec-20 04:44:31

Another one here who struggles to sleep, and up at 4am today. The days are so long as it is especially when you live alone.
I'm contemplating washing the bathroom walls down shortly- not that they really need it, but I'm fed up of sitting watching tv, and I'm seizing up.
I nod off occasionally in front of the tv if I've had a bad night, but not for long as it just causes more sleep problems.
Too much time and too little to do. Oh well onwards and upwards ?

Oh no! Your poor daughter! She's had it twice? Is that right? How is she?
You must be very worried.
There seems to me that there is even more virus about now than there was in the Spring.
There are so many threads on Gransnet about people being hospitalised.

At the moment the health service is managing but next week will be the test, everyone coming back from their holidays. I don’t think there is a big delay as friends are having hip and knee ops in a few weeks.

mokryna Tue 29-Dec-20 04:05:58

Your are young at heart, I don’t like snow unless I am comfortable on the inside. Driving is a bit scary and on foot very worrying. My daughter is further north than you, Preston, she has snow but is in isolation as she has covid again.

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 04:02:30

Orthopaedist sounds right.
Yes, I was referred in October, but they have had a big backlog to catch up with.
How has your health service been coping Mokryna, has it been affected by the virus?
Have you heard when you will get the vaccination?

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 03:59:39

Definition, not definitely tchconfused

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 03:58:58

Hello again, I've just let the dog out / let her back in (just before she started barking at the foxes).
Someone said that the definitely if the word door is something that a dog is always the wrong side of.
No snow, I'm afraid. We must have only just missed it as my dad had lots where he is. My dad lives near Birmingham, and I live in Derby which is around 40 miles away.
I'm hopeful that we will get some today.

mokryna Tue 29-Dec-20 03:39:05

FC Maybe it’s a orthopedist, sounds a long way off February but if he can help it will be worth it.

mokryna Tue 29-Dec-20 03:30:35

Rufus and your stomach. Are you in Sydney, I have forgotten

mokryna Tue 29-Dec-20 03:29:19

Oh yes she sounded very interesting life, and to finish her life in France!

Rufus2 Tue 29-Dec-20 03:28:34

Hi, anyone there

Been waiting to tell Kim that I had a lovely hot Cornish pastie for lunch/ coffee/ one glass Shiraz! tchsmile

Oh! almost forgot! It's a lovely warm, sunny day 25C, so I could be indoors watching the MCG Test match,, but I'll take Freda out for some fresh air and think about what to have for dinner! tchgrin

Great to heard things are a bit better Nonexistent Christmas Looking forward to the inoculation but that will only be in a couple of months. Do you have snow and how’s your dog doing.

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 03:27:15

Mokryna have you been listening to the World Service tonight?
I enjoyed that program about the Indian lady who won the poetry prize in Wales.

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 03:24:18

Things are slowly improving for him, yes, thank you.
He is still very weak but his breathing is much better.
I am much the same, really. I have an appointment with the spine doctor (I'm not sure what the term is!) in February. Thank you so much for asking!
How was your Christmas?

mokryna Tue 29-Dec-20 03:18:24

Yes and you and your husband, are things improving ?

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 03:16:40

Hello mokryna are you okay?

mokryna Tue 29-Dec-20 02:52:57

Hi, anyone there.

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 02:18:32

Hello George'sgran, you haven't popped in for a while. How have you been, did you have an okay Christmas? x

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 02:16:04

Hello Silverlady, ooh, the Ripper, I can't watch any real life crime thing like that. I bet it was very atmospheric though. I heard a woman talking about what it was like then and how women felt almost imprisoned.
Two dogs! Now you're talking! What dogs do you have? Enjoy your tea and their company! brew

Georgesgran Tue 29-Dec-20 02:15:27

Acid reflux earlier - but in bed now with hot water bottle and plenty of pillows. Really must lose weight as it’s only started recently and google lists it as a likely cause.
Hope everyone has a reasonable rest/sleep now.

Silverlady79 Tue 29-Dec-20 02:09:33

Good evening good morning. Watched the Ripper on a Netflix and it bought back memories of those times when we were all a bit scared no matter where we lived. Now fully awake with tea in hand and bought the delighted dogs up to bed with me! Husband puts them downstairs I bring em up ??

FannyCornforth Tue 29-Dec-20 01:54:02

Good morning, or good night, whatevermoon
Just bumping this in case anyone is about, back later on I suppose! brew

Rufus2 Mon 28-Dec-20 13:18:40

I'm sure you tantalise on purpose
Kim Now why would I do that?
It's just a friendly reminder that the sun is still up there, despite Covid, or it is "Down Under" tchgrin

If your spell checker is up to it you could call it "schadenfraude", but don't worry, your day will come when you can regale us with tales of how you cope with those "lazy, hazy, crazy days of Summer". tchblush

Hello tictacnana!
You are most welcome here, there's usually someone to chat with (even if it's only Rufustchsmile) and the kettle is always on!
The thread should now be available through your 'threads I'm on' button, or you can get to it through the chat board.
I will try to make sure that it's in 'active threads' though.
See you later! brewmoon
