Morning all from a dark and very, very cold North Leicestershire.

The roof cladding went very well. At one stage we had 5 large, noisy men on the roof but they got it all done in one day and cleared up very well. Now we need rain.

If it works we can get the hall replastered and decorated. Yippee!

I'm impressed by your sewing skills, Mattie.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all. It's dry and cold here in Derbyshire but no fog at the moment and the sun might put in an appearance later.

Good work grandmattie and some great ideas to help your DGD2 over the coming months.

Some very sad news for our family this week - my eldest brother died on Wednesday. I have previously mentioned that he was in hospital with breathing difficulties in September. After treatment he was able to go home, but his health was very poor. I spoke to him last week and he said his heart and lungs were knackered (as he put it) but he sounded upbeat and said he was doing well, so it was a shock when my niece phoned to tell me she'd found him at home after being unable to contact him during the day.

As if deliberately planned to cause a distraction, my DGS2 was sick at school yesterday and I had to collect him. He was absolutely fine later but school rules dictate that he can't go to school today, so he's spending the day with us. He's such a chatterbox and makes us laugh so it will lighten our mood.

We've got to get new tyres for both cars this morning, and this afternoon my racehorse is running at Newbury. Well, I say "my racehorse" - I own the tip of one of his ears as part of a syndicate with about 20,000 other people - a gift from DH. The race is on tv too so I will be able to watch him run.

Hope everyone is feeling well and has a good day today.

Good morning all from a dark and frosty east coast of fife I’m having a quiet day today himself might be going for a drive in the car to st Andrew’s it’s too cold for a game of golf especially as himself is recovering from a horrible cold. My physio came yesterday he’s says he’s pleased to see a little improvement with my left hand and says doing these squats are strengthening my legs who hoo all is going in the right direction. Have a good day everyone thinking of all who’s anxious, these days will pass and hopefully will soon be behind us [Sunshine]

Good Morning everyone from Oxfordshire
Still dark but like you Mick I think it will be foggy.
grandMattie the knickers look great! All those years ago when we needed the same for our DD we bought big ones and tied them..could have done with you then!
Wine Friday! Oh dear that's bad when I think that at 7 o clock in the morning!
Keep smilingsmile and best wishes to all

Try Velcro as well perhaps. For warmer nether garments fleece joggers, altered with a side opening? Happy sewing grandMattie

Good morning from a grey damp E Kent.
It’s grim here as we are in Tier 3. Ever the optimist, DH said that at least we could have a test when we wanted one...
The Knicker Queen has been at it! Two alternative closures. I also suggested “shallots” (culottes) to fit something warm over the cage of DG2’s leg. I’ve ordered a pattern and shall fiddle around with it. I also wondered about wrap around trousers. Do any of you remember them? Another suggestions for comfortable, unlumpy knicker closures?
The child will be in hospital for a week and not back at school until next term, when she’ll be eased back in. I understand the cage will be on for a long time, up to a year, so for the winter, she’ll need really warm nether garments. The house is a Georgian four storied town house, so very hard to heat...
I hope that everyone has the best day possible. X

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Another frosty start and as Mick says fog to follow.

I will do my shop early and back home to make some cards and carry on sewing. I might watch one of those soppy Christmassy films this afternoon.
I hope you all have a good day giving and receiving kindness and dealing with anything else that comes your way ?

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry and cold outside , if forecast is right , expecting to see fog when its lighter here in Brackley .
Today , will catch bus up to the new Sainsburys in the town later and do my shop.
With theses new levels in 2 when it happens , being on a beer related email group , reports as to pubs being only able to meals with a drink , taking away the social leisure of just going for a drink , it will sales as well .
Take Care ,
Mick
