Will you tell me what CD is currently on your player or the last one you listened to?

Sorry, posted too soon. Was about to say we don’t see people apologising for being lowbrow.

Grandma70s Sun 29-Nov-20 17:59:19

M0nica, please don’t apologise for being highbrow! We could do with more of it here. To me that’s just normal, not highbrow. We don’t see people aplogising

I’m not listening to anything at the moment, but if I did it would certainly be classical.

Davida1968 Sun 29-Nov-20 17:47:13

Lowell George: one of his albums: 'Thanks, I'll eat it here." (DH's CD, but I like it.)

M0nica Sun 29-Nov-20 17:36:03

Beethoven piano sonatas. Sorry if that sounds too high brow.

I do also play CDS by the folk group White Sail, which DDil belongs to.

Nannarose Sun 29-Nov-20 17:06:06

Bellowhead because I need to get moving!
But a nod to Jane10 (Leon Redbone - my little GC loves his polly-wolly-doodle!) and Marmight (Eva's brother Dan was my last-but-one before lockdown live concert)

Vickysponge Sun 29-Nov-20 17:04:40

Sarah Brightman - eden

Marydoll Sun 29-Nov-20 16:56:22

I'm listening to my own eclectic collection on Spotify streamed from my phone through the Sonos system.

My son gave me an Alexa for my birthday so I can have any music I want depending on my mood.

MamaCaz Sun 29-Nov-20 15:37:07

The Beautiful South's Greatest Hits is in my CD player right now.

One day last week, I couldn't face playing dgd's usual nursery rhyme/songs CD for the millionth time, so put that on for her to dance to instead.
She didn't seem to mind, though luckily she doesn't understand the lyrics yet - I don't fancy trying to explain some of them to a two year old!

hollysteers Sun 29-Nov-20 15:31:19

I only like music when I’m driving; Classic FM and Radio 3 go well with lovely countryside, particularly Ralph Vaughan Williams. Then pop music for a change.
At home, LBC.

morethan2 Sun 29-Nov-20 15:29:29

Not music but I’m listening to shardlake revelation on the iPlayer

SueDonim Sun 29-Nov-20 15:28:40

Western Stars, Bruce Springsteen.

We still have CD’s as we have an old but expensive music system that gives us far better quality sound than modern equipment. We don’t play tapes on it anymore, though! ?

Marmight Sun 29-Nov-20 15:27:17

Eva Cassidy ‘Songbird’. My CDs have been packed away in a couple of boxes since I moved over 3 years ago. I’ve just taken delivery of a cd/tape/record/radio player and am beginning to work my way through them. Quite emotional as many of them were DH’s. I’ll start on the Christmassy ones next week ?

Katyj Sun 29-Nov-20 15:24:22

Annapops good choice. Just been listening to the Beach boys in the car reminds me of summer.

Nannytopsy Sun 29-Nov-20 15:02:17

Ooh good idea Witzend!
Walk under Ladders by Joan Armatrading here at the moment.

Witzend Sun 29-Nov-20 14:59:59

Since it’s Advent Sunday, and I’m about to make the first mince pies (once dh has finished replacing the under-counter lights) it’s Essential Carols, from the choir of King’s College Cambridge. ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 29-Nov-20 14:51:06

I had to go and look - so long since I've listened to it - it's Classical Arias. DH has usually got the TV. blaring so themusic doesn't get a chance to be appreciated.

Jane10 Sun 29-Nov-20 14:47:21

'Any Time' by Leon Redbone

Annapops Sun 29-Nov-20 14:45:47

Brown Eyed Girl, Van Morrison. Taking me back to my student days.

tanith Sun 29-Nov-20 14:39:59

Tubular Bells Mike Oldfield an all time favourite some lovely memories.

kittylester Sun 29-Nov-20 14:00:45

I'm currently listening to 'Kitty's Favourites' on Alexa. It's sort of eclectic!:

Anannymous Sun 29-Nov-20 13:53:47

Ralph McTell “Somewhere down the Road”

Grannynannywanny Sun 29-Nov-20 13:49:37

I haven’t played a cd in the house since my son gave me google speakers last Christmas and set me up on their google music subscription. I love it, any music I fancy on demand.

I only play CDs in the car and it’s currently my favourite band Cherish the Ladies on repeat. I’ll be taking their lovely Christmas CD out to the car later.
