Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark, and its dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Today , pick up wreathes for family graves , do a shop undecided which supermarket to use .
Did bus to Bicester yesterday , did my usual cafe stop with snack , was tempted to get my haircut as well , as men's hairdressers had nobody in there.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning to you all. Brightening up here in the Gower, a chilly 3° though.

I haven't been able to read anybody's posts this morning as my tablet didn't charge overnight. I've managed to charge it enough now to post but will have to put it back on charge ?

Grammaretto ?. Thinking of you and all your family today. As you lay your dearest husband and greatest friend to rest, celebrate the life he had. The love you shared never leaves, you for him and him for you, for it is a forever gift. Gentle cwtches x

Good morning all from a bitterly cold, grey and windswept Angus coast. I got up during the night and couldn't see out of the landing window for a covering of snow, but today there is nothing, except on the hills. I am going through a "sleepless phase" at the moment - I was still awake at 5.30 and then slept til 10.30. do I haven't bread any posts yet and will come back in later.

Thinking very much of Grammaretto today. Like many of us on here, I know something of what she is going through from my own experience and I do feel for her. Also it is the funeral this morning of my DD's FiL, so a day of sadness.

Any plans I had for today have been scuppered by the weather and the lack of sleep so I'm just going to courie down and keep warm. Have a good day everyone - and sorry for this miserable post. ??

Good Morning to you all from Cambs., It's raining now, after sleety/snow earlier, (enough snow to settle on rooftops).
Not as much as your snow pittcity.!

Uplifting post Marydoll.

I'm loving the photos, thank you all.

Thinking of Grammaretto, also MawBe.

Take Care Folks.

Am late to post after DH’s domestic crisis which has involved a bed full of bedding and carpet cleaning. Not a good start to the day but am calming down now with a mug of coffee and GN, and will endeavour not to shout at anybody especially DH.

Thoughts today to grammaretto, Maw and as always Gilly who we miss. Am impressed with trees decorated, cards written and even sausage rolls made so must stir myself to do something useful. Not making sausage rolls though, a special favourite of DGS; since we are not likely to see him I can’t feel the urge. And no parties or gatherings to cater for, so no industrial quantities of mince pies required. I will certainly make some for us though because we like them and DH has a couple as a pud if there is nothing else on offer.

EllanVannin Fri 04-Dec-20 10:38:33

Good Morning All x.
Grey sky and a little breezy, but dry. It doesn't feel as cold as it was last night though.
By the time I've read all the posts I've forgotten who said what, so it's a good memory trainer.

Thoughts with Grammaretto today x
Iris too sounds as though she's doing well which is good to hear.

Marydoll you never fail to make me smile with your posts, in fact I laughed about the " bomb ". Your attitude definitely keeps you going, I love it.

Ashcombe I'm trying my hardest to be your fairy godmother here and wishing you to join DH. What a Christmas present that would be.

Oh, those sausage rolls, BlueSapphire, I can smell them from here. That's tempted me to make some along with the mince pies, you can't beat home-baked.

My bedroom is beginning to look like a grotto now with the children's presents piling up. Once wrapped, they'll be piled up in a corner of the living room----if there's a corner to spare until D picks them up on Christmas Day.
I would have given anything to have seen their faces on the morning, but there'll be a houseful sad

Anyway my morning went well with the nurse yesterday and my INR was within range if a little higher than my last visit 3 months ago so I'm next die at the end of January. The reading can fluctuate with my diet and because of the salads I'd had would add to the increase, but who's worrying. I did tell the nurse about my " episode " but seemed to know that I'd cope unless there'd been pain too, which there wasn't.

Sitting waiting for more deliveries now, there'd been a couple which fitted through the letterbox for starters, so it's boxes now but must say that deliveries in general have been good.

It's gradually getting darker here and I can just about make out the letters on the keyboard so must get some light on the subject now before it's indecipherable grin

Be careful everyone out and about in case it's bad underfoot and stay safe and well xx Gilly too x

Good morning from Durham. Again cold and wet. Only want to echo others on the kind thoughts for our struggling GNs.? Such sadness at any time but somehow made worse in December? I had 2 ‘tragedies’ at this time of year and time doesn’t heal, but does help to deal with the shock and memories.
Another nothing day here - Sainsbury’s beckons but I’m turning a blind eye and deaf ear for now. X

Auntieflo Fri 04-Dec-20 10:27:14

This is our replacement tree this year.
My favourite twiggy, Fibre optic one, went to the christmas tree forest last year.

Ormond56 Fri 04-Dec-20 10:25:57

Whoops didn’t think first post would send sorry

Hymnbook Fri 04-Dec-20 10:25:45

Morning everyone l hope you are all keeping well. It's snowing here in Sherwood. I will endeavour to get some housework done today. My new sideboard arrived Monday so hopefully l can now unpack more boxes. Who'd have thought nearly a year later l would still be tripping over boxes. Take care

Auntieflo Fri 04-Dec-20 10:25:14

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all.
As it is Friday, a special call out to our missing Gillybob.
I had an early-ish physio treatment yesterday, and so didn't get to read any of Thursday's posts, so am all behind like the donkey's tail.
Thoughts go to Gramaretto and also to Maw.
BlueSapphire those sausage rolls look delicious. I bet they don't last long, unless you are going to freeze them. Ah, I see , you did freeze most of them.
I marzipanned my cake yesterday, and have so far resisted the impulse to eat the left overs. Then in the late afternoon, I watched the recording of Kirsty's cake decorating competition. Oh, those lovely figures, father christmas and the little gnome. Wish I was more artistic. Our DS1 used to sometimes 'paint' our cake.
Harrigran. flowers for you and MrH
I hope you are taking it easy Marydoll.
Doddery old woman, you are not
Must go and get myself sorted out now instead of sitting here playing.
Have a good day one and all.

Ormond56 Fri 04-Dec-20 10:25:05

I just want to say how much marydolls post has cheered me up as I am feeling bit overwhelmed with stuff at the moment. I don’t post but always read these posts. So Thankyou.

grandMattie Fri 04-Dec-20 10:24:50

BlueSapphire

Some of my sausage rolls!

Reminds me of when I was a young mum, my son was asked to bring sausage rolls to the Christmas party. I wet to the teacher, appalled, and told her I didn’t know how to make the, she looked at me and said, witheringly,”you buy them frozen and bake them!”

Ormond56 Fri 04-Dec-20 10:21:36

Morning . I don’t post on here but avidly read every day. Feeling bit overwhelmed at moment with stuff but had to comment on Good morning thread on Marydolls post. I’m still chuckling at your lovely funny comments ?

Nannytopsy Fri 04-Dec-20 10:16:34

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I hope you are feeling better Mick and do take care.
After three very early starts this week, we woke quite late, to find snow in Suffolk ! It was coming down in great big flakes but now has turned to rain. Can you imagine the excitement then disappointment in all the primary schools?!
It’s click and collect this morning, so I had better ”shift me stumps” as mum used to say.
DS’s dog ate DGD’s Advent calendar yesterday and we failed to get a replacement, despite a tour of several village shops. I am glad I am not there this morning for the fall out!
Love to Gramaretto this morning.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Callistemon Fri 04-Dec-20 10:10:18

Good morning Mick and everyone
I'm not sure whether you have any results from your appointment at the surgery but I hope you're feeling better, take care. It's very chilly out there today, so wrap up warm as my Mum used to say.

Grammaretto I hope today goes as well as possible and you find some comfort from friends and family flowers

MawB flowers for you too, a very poignant day.

It's grey and dry here in S Wales, no sign of snow as yet although some is forecast for the mountains just north of here.

Blossoming Fri 04-Dec-20 10:00:02

Good morning all, another grey rainy morning here. I have been gradually clearing out cupboards, decluttering, cleaning and generally sorting out my chaotic life. I can only manage a couple of hours a day so it is frustratingly slow but the end is in sight. Feels good grin

Scentia Fri 04-Dec-20 09:48:40

Having a rather early tea break at work. The factory is freezing and I have to come into the office regularly to get warm. I used to tell the children to move around more if they were cold, I must follow my own advice!!
Grammaretto I hope today goes as well as it can and you get some comfort from your family and friends. Marydoll so happy for you that you will get to chat to your DGD today, I hope this is the beginning of a reconciliation.x Maw Look after yourself today.
Well the 'Omelette' was an experience and I realised why you need to use eggs for these things!!!! I may try again with some seasoning and a few mushrooms next time.

Grandmafrench Fri 04-Dec-20 09:41:45

Good Morning everyone. Thank you for your kind wishes, I’ve been left feeling a bit down - but I know it must be my turn by now, so shall look forward to a change of mood soon and will continue to be cheered by all the news and chat here.

To anyone and everyone struggling today, wishing hard for you.

Grammaretto please take some comfort from your family and friends at this awful time. Memories - everything you shared in your life together will never leave you. He’ll be safe in your heart forever. ?

Anniebach Fri 04-Dec-20 09:38:16

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

GrannyOwl5 Fri 04-Dec-20 09:23:19

Good morning everyone from a grey north Kent. It rained heavily overnight but dry at the moment

Like all of us, I am thinking of Grammaretto and her family; hoping they will be drawing strength and comfort from each other. Thoughts also with Maw ?

Hope everyone under the weather is improving and that Grandmafrench’s leg is getting better.

The sausage rolls look scrumptious BlueSapphire; bet they don’t last long!

Off for a jaunt to the opticians so DH can collect his new specs. I shall go along for an “outing” then might venture into the garden centre. How exciting!

Have a good day. Mind the slippery roads. Stay safe

Greyduster Fri 04-Dec-20 09:09:17

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A late one from me, making up for lost sleep. It’s grey and dreary in South Yorkshire and I’m hoping the snow avoids us. Although DH is itching to see if the Big Beast will do the business this winter, I very definitely am not. Had my haircut yesterday. It’s now extremely short and feeling distinctly draughty round the ears. Housework and ironing today, the I will finish the cards.
Grammaretto and her family will be much in my thoughts today?. Stay safe and do the best you can folks.

Nortsat Fri 04-Dec-20 08:51:51

Bluesapphire ... I volunteer for testing duty on your sausage rolls. My partner would willing test half a dozen for you, too.
Yum ...

Susan56 Fri 04-Dec-20 08:49:46

Good morning from Shropshire. We didn’t get the promised snow/sleet just rain.

Looking after H today then school pick up for DGD later.

Mary so pleased you got to speak to your little granddaughter??

Ann, we have asked the delivery driver to take mum’s shopping to the back door so it is put straight in the kitchen which makes it easier. We have also rearranged the kitchen a bit so he can place the shopping on the table so not as much bending down.

Scentia, let us know what the omelette mix is like. Our grandson has severe allergies two of which are dairy and eggs.He basically has a vegan diet with meat?so we are always looking for new ideas for him to try.

Thinking of Grammaretto today?and also Maw?
