Good afternoon everybody from South Manchester! The morning just ran away from me - phone calls made & received, a later breakfast, then my iPad died again and Himself was using his. How can I be so behind when I’m quarantining eh?

Anyway, just popped on to say hello & will read the 70 posts! Goodness how lovely - like a novella to enjoy.

I expect that you are feeling a bit swamped with us all saying that you must get advice re your symptoms. Well as far as I am concerned you cannot have too many so I am adding mine too. You can never be too sure with those symptoms so do get advice ASAP.

A late morning all or an early good afternoon from South Notts where it's a little warmer and is trying to drizzle. Am just back from my usual weekly shop where it wasn't too busy - I'm dreading the Christmas rush if it happens this year as I very much dislike crowds.

Your crochet is very pretty Ginny I've never quite got to grips with that particular craft. NannyJan that picture is lovely, a budding Picasso I'm sure. Lots of great trees on here.

As for the sock knitting I'm now on the instep and am approaching the toe which will be a challenge. Must write some more cards later for sending.

Hello Grammaretto. Good to have your presence in a less sensational and practical way. I find this kind of bonding(?) with someone I can't even put a face or feet to very strange. Not my style. You live in a lovely area of UK which, in itself might be a blessing. Sure hope so.

Thread read (how poetic!) so back again. There seems to be a happy theme about today. So glad brave little Iris is home again, and Scentia - so much to look forward to next year. Congratulations! Choosing names is fun. I remember my DGD2's big brother chose his name - Calum. His mother assumes that he had heard lots of people asking "What are you going to call him?"! Both boys are well into their 20s now - I must remember to ask the older one of he remembers that! Glamping, Sark! How glorious that sounds. Love your handiwork, both Beauregard and Ginny. And it's lovely to know that Matt Hancock cares personally anout you Dragonfly ?. NannyJan that art project of your DGD is so effective, and really so simple. What a clever 9yo you have there. I shall try to attach a painting my 16yo DGD did for my birthday - it took her just 20-30 minutes and is also simple and effective. (She's taking art, but not intending to take it further, iykwim.). So glad you're feeling more like yourself again Grandmafrench, but don't go too wild with the steam cleaner! Had to laugh out loud at your list of activities that are safer than ?!! Gwen enjoy your nap this afternoon. Did you know there's a Nightowls thread? It's surprising how many people are finding night turning into day. Now off I toddle again. I think I shall push back the furniture and do a set of tai chi before I do anything constructive. I haven't done it since we had to stop classes again last month, and I miss it. Good morning everyone.
I haven't posted much this last week, to be honest it's been a bit daft around here. Amongst everything else my OH has gone deaf so fun and games have ensued! He had a sinus and ear infection a few weeks ago and he has been left with lots of wax build up. This first caused like a pressure in his head and a little bit of pain but now the deafness. After a couple of phone chats with the nurse at our surgery he was sent to the GP assessment centre at the hospital. The verdict was a build of wax and he needed them syringing urgently but the NHS cant do it for 3 - 4 months! He has a private appointment next Tuesday! In the meantime I have stopped shouting and started writing things down for him, at least now he cant say I haven't told him something!
We put the tree up yesterday, because we are in such a small flat we have a wall hung one. I hope the photo loads!
I haven't read all the posts yet so will now sit with a cup of tea and take my time.

Good morning all from a cold Stockport.
Yesterday turned into a beautiful day, sunny and mild.
I even managed a short walk up the road and back.
My progress after my op is much slower than than I had hoped but I must be patient, not one of my traits.

I assembled my tree yesterday morning and later my GD decorated it, I am pleased with it and only had to get the cat off it once, she lost interest after that.

I slept so heavily last night I didn’t wake up until 10am, half the day has gone by then but with so little to do it really doesn’t matter.

So much good news this morning, I am delighted for you all, some not so good of course but my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Good Morning all from miserable Harrogate.
Last night was almost a waste of time going to bed - I finally got to sleep when most of you were busy posting here!!
Nevertheless will roll my pastry out while attending virtual church (the mind boggles)
At the risk of nagging, Mick call 111, they might get a GP to call you, which happened to my DH last week - He's as stubborn as most men when it comes to health!!
The only thing I have planned today is to have a nap after lunch!!

Not much going on today but I must ring my cousin to see how she's doing as I know she was having her post mastectomy check earlier this week.

I'm pleased that little Iris is home now grandMattie, yes she has a long road ahead of her but she's a little ⭐ and it will make such a difference to the rest of her life.

My WP used to break in horses in his earlier days Beauregard I'd send him to help tame your DD's horse but with his back issues I think those days are gone now.

It is grey here and cold but dry. A short trip out on the hunt for painkillers. DH & I are both taking the full dose at the moment and the small packs from the supermarket don’t last long!

Good Morning from a dull and drizzly Black Country.

I didn't wake up until 9.30 this morning, totally unheard of! I have skim read all your posts, bit will read more thoroughly later.

I am going to try and make Nigella's ice cream today with double cream, ice cream and Advocaat. That is about all I have planned today. You are all putting me to shame with decorations, we have decided to put ours up next weekend. All the cards are posted though

Congratulations Scentia on your news. I have 4 granddaughters and they are all a delight and real characters.

I can only echo what everyone else has said Mick please seek medical advice.

Good morning from a cold, grey and slightly foggy Welwyn in Herts.
We look forward to the rolling out of the vaccine next week, we are in the fourth group so it should be well into the New Year before we get it. Hope it goes well for everybody without too many ill-effects.
Today we hope to go for a longish walk in the woods near here, wellies are waiting in the porch for their first outing of the season!

Good morning everyone from DD's in a very frosty and misty East Northants. DS-in-law has just come in from walking the dogs and says it's freezing, and the paths are slippy.

Now Mick, take the good advice of everyone else on here and see your doctor or nurse. This needs sorting.

Finished my Agatha Christie last night and am ready to start the next one. I have only one more Marple to read, but my next one is a Poirot. Enjoyed watching the rugby yesterday especially as Ireland won - DS-in-law was quite chuffed - he is from Co Antrim and always supports the Ireland team as North and South combine for Ireland matches. DD and I enjoyed Strictly, and I actually voted last night for the first time! DD also put up the tree and decorations.

Not a lot planned today, and will be home this afternoon. Hope today goes well.

Mick by now you may be heartily sick of everyone saying more or less the same thing, but we can't all be wrong, can we. (And just think of the absolute centuries of experience that lie behind the advice ?). I think a face-to-face with your doctor is called for, really. And just rest today. I have only skimmed the posts very quickly as yet, so am off to make a cup of coffee while I have a proper read. I am also going to contemplate the procreational properties of wind turbines. I am sure there were only a dozen over on the hill last time I looked - this morning I counted 28, all turning lazily and glistening in the sunshine. Rather pretty. ?
