Good morning,
I went to a well established beautician for the first time for eyelash and eyebrow dying, I'm 66 and was feeling (and looking!) very tired. Beautician told me I had rosaeca on my cheeks and nose, I do have open pores on nose and bit redness on cheeks but my foundation estee lauder double wear hide this. I've never considered treatments like this but did book a facial with her! This lady gets great reviews and is also 66 and knows her stuff but I wondered what you all think my husband said she's selling! Also what treatments give you best boost, Thanks Barbara

I have an eyebrow and lash tint and brow wax every 6 weeks or so. Apart from that, I don’t pay for any beauty treatments. I keep my skin in good condition by washing rarely (only once or twice a week), always with soap or shower gel, and immediately applying moisturiser when I do. Occasionally I use a witch-hazel face wipe in hot, sweaty weather. I never wear cosmetics.

I once had a ‘cleansing’ facial, in my 30s. It gave me acne, something I have never had before or since. The beautician said I’d need another sort of facial to treat it, but I decided to rely on nature to cure it, and after a few weeks it settled down. Once you get on to the treadmill of facial treatments, you have to keep going, and it’s ruinously expensive.

If it’s not something that has been bothering you then I think your husband is right she’s looking to make money out of you They will start gradually introducing what you ‘need’ over the months always finding more
Easy to say as I have no beauty regime what so ever apart from a daily wash I have never used creams and potions and have luckily inherited my Dads easy going skin
I ve never been to a ‘beautician’ I think that’s an awful title, implying that without them you’re not beautiful
