never thought one day I’d put on a mask, walk into a bank and ask for money!

Murphy’s Law has not yet been repealed. Practically every December on the run- up to Christmas I manage to lose a tooth filling or part of one. All I was doing was chewing on a Cadbury’s bar of fruit and nut and presto!; something harder rhan a piece of nut was rolling around.; a horrible feeling.
Fortunately my dentist has a vacancy this Friday; hopefully Murphy stays away.
I know it’s not wise to tempt fate, but after all those chocolate docos lately I couldn’t resist. sad
Weather still rotten today; only 18C, wet and windy!, but roll on next weekend ; back to the 30s.

Covid results are still very good. Many international flights are arriving into Sydney, Brisbane and Tulla One slight panic. A couple from Germany somehow avoided the quarantine bus at Sydney and caught a domestic flight to Melb. where a security guard spotted them. Apparently they were “clean”, but I’m not sure whether all the domestic passengers now have to self-isolate for the 14 day incubation period.
Hotel quarantine isn’t cheap and I’m not sure what room-service is available.

Work on the house block opposite is now in motion with the arrival of the regulation Portaloo! That’ll provide some entertainment for the next few months.

Mask wearing is now less rigorous with only a few locations requiring them, such as medical premises.

Megs Netflix is available, but I don’t have it; I’ve heard of The Crown but know nothing about it Dr. Google here we come.
I sympathise with Mr. M and his breathing problems with masks; did he have to go onto a ventilator at times before Covid?.
Vera would have been in real strife now if she’d survived What was it called, Ventilin I think. She had to use a puffer and a plastic mouth shield quite often at times.
Just to think, it will be 5 years on Christmas Eve whan she died and also our 67th Wedding Anniversary. As always, that time has flashed by!

Jane Do Rangers and Celtic still play football? They barely get a mention here; It’s all EPL and European Cup comps. Watched recording of Man. City thrash Burnley 5-0; next is watching them beat Fulham 2-0 .
Do your teams still have roots in the perennial Catholics v non-Catholic clashes?
That used to be the situation between the two Manchester teams (City, catholic), but as you say, you’ve probably all moved on.

What do you mean “rubbishy American Christmas films” Doesn’t Bing’s “White Christmas” still bring a tear to your eyes, or have you moved on from that too!?
Myself will be watching lots of English comedians, the good old ones, in their Christmas Specials, all for free on YouTube! grin

Well, everything seems quite peaceful at GN now that we’re into the “Season of Goodwill to All Men”, so I should sleep well again tonight! wink

Good Health wine wine wine

Hi Rufus2. I don't follow football at all. However the sectarian aspect is mentioned a lot in the papers.
'White Christmas' is far from the rubbishy ones I meant. Netflix is a hotbed of them. Often referred to as 'holiday' films. Christmas is Christmas in our house. We once picked up a nice box of Christmas cards but put them back as the message inside was 'Happy Holidays'! If people want to send Hanukkah or Divali or Eid cards that's great but 25th December is Christmas. Rant over.
Sun's out. Think I'll go for a quick walk.

Gday (or something !). Rufus
Just amazing someone managing slip past the quarantine rules, did they think they were ‘free’ to do as they like because your results are doing well.

Hopefully tooth sorted today, this happened a couple of times to me, once when. we were starting a cruise, the boat was just pulling out of Southampton, Fortunately it didn’t hurt and I managed to phonethe dentist and get an appointment for our return, had to be abit careful with all the wonderful food that week , still put on weight though.
No ,thank goodness, MrM never went on a ventilator, each hospital visit involved oxygen mask and like your dear one, Ventolin, the last time, just at start of first lockdown, he was kept in isolation and said the only thing he saw or heard was the tea trolley going past his door.....Luckily (!) it was pneumonia and they threw him out before anything worse happened.Athome he too uses puffers and inhalers, on the whole not too bad so long as her doesn’t exert himself, hoovering is out but potato peeling OK?

.A sad time for you at Christmas with your wife’s anniversary,I guess you have good memories with your family though and can celebrate those.

Cheers

Argh sorry Rufus2. I've stupidly put a response to you in the Scroogelike thread. Completely inappropriate. Sorry

Hi Rufus, yes, Celtic and Rangers still play in the same league, Celtic are not doing well so far this season and unfortunately sectarianism is still thriving.
Hopefully your tooth will be speedily sorted this Friday and new entertainment opposite as well.
Christmas must be full of memories, along with many precious others.
Take care ?
