IPad Addiction

Mine has been a godsend this year, I even use it whilst it’s charging.DH often asks me who someone is on the TV so I quickly look it up. A couple of games, masses of photographs, books, music, zoom meetings and Face Time.
I do jigsaws too, so I listen to the music on the iPad at the same time.
Who knew that when we saw them on Star Trek years ago, we would have one of our own?
Just waiting for us to be able to be ‘ Beamed up’ somewhere, now that would be magic.

I’ve had IPhone since they started initially for work. Got an Ipad as a present to myself when I got my company pension lump sum six years ago. Hardly used a laptop since. Bought a new Ipad so OH could have original one. I use it every day. I bought an Amazon Fire at the start of lockdown so that i could borrow library books. The Ipad is a bit big for reading in bed , the Fire is a godsend and it fits in my handbag! My 88 year old mother started using an iPad during lockdown. Love technology- and who cares if we become addicted! The knowledge of the entire world - past and present- at our fingertips- AWESOME!

I had to wait a month after ordering from Apple. It's still in the box, though, as I'm anxious about transferring everything from old to new, particularly my two thousand odd photos. Apple aren't helping at the moment, in an effort to keep the number of people in their shops down. As a result I'm still putting up with the slowness of the eight year old one. Because of it's age, it's now not compatible with so much.

I am addicted to mine too. Even when watching TV I can’t just sit there doing nothing. I have to play a mindless game on it. I belong to lots of Forums which gives me a chance to chat as DH is the silent type.

I so wish I still had parents to show it all too. They’d never believe it!

I’m the same was everyone else on here. Definitely my godsend throughout this pandemic, would’ve be without it. I’ve done the majority of my Christmas shopping using my iPad. Not missed going to the shops at all.

It’s so lovely to see that I am not alone in my addiction! I would be totally lost without mine and was feeling a bit guilty about the amount of time I was spending on it, but having read these posts I feel totally guilt free!

Not an iPad but I love my tablets...and my ereader .
I communicate with friends in next suburb and in USA...I send messages to my son...just hellos and suchlike ....I get sewing patterns and I shop...and...I couldn't imagine being without one

Love mine. When we lived abroad for 9 months it was my saviour as it kept me in touch with everyone back home. Family and friends on a daily basis, fact timing etc. I use it for social media, shoppping, reading, and can access my sky on it so when hubby is watching sport I can sit with my headphones quite happy. What isnt there to love about it.

Addicted........... totally. Plain and simple.
If mine stopped working or broke I would go and buy another bone immediately.

I’m happily addicted to my iPad mini and consider it the best value for money I have ever spent.
I bought it in JL 30 months ago for £399 so costs approximately 43p a day and reducing ....

I’ve made a conscious effort lately not to spend quite so much time on my I pad. I look at youngsters, and not so young, glued to their phones, and I think I was as bad on my tablet.

If nothing much on tv, I make the effort to read a book instead of browsing the net.

Mines an iPad Air and was just over £300 last spring from J Lewis

I’ve got an iPad as well as an ancient laptop, but since acquiring an iPhone I use that for everything. It goes everywhere with me, it’s my companion at home or away, I literally don’t leave home without it! How on earth did I used to manage before?

John Lewis do have them in stock but the cheapest model is £709.

I will have another look but on Tuesday apple was quoting Jan 6th for delivery. I wanted it as a Christmas gift.
I will try John Lewis again.

The online Apple store appears to have iPads in stock if anyone is looking for one.

When I first went online at John Lewis ...it said ‘out of stock’. I persisted and kept trying all evening. Finally got one. Their stock might have just arrived. Don’t give up. Try Amazon and other websites as well.

My IPad is glued to me - about 8 years ago my kids bought me an iPad for Xmas. It started to get sluggish. So I treated myself to a new one - just the basic 32gb. It’s quite enough. I don’t download anything. I have photos on it.
I play games. Read the news every 15 minutes. Google anything and everything. I just googled Toblerone. Mr Tobler was one of the creators.
By the way, iPads are very difficult to get hold off. I was lucky to get one from John Lewis online. I love my iPad .

I have to admit mine barely gets a chance to charge up. It is used throughout the day and evening. I have a mini which I find to be more easily held than a full size. I even find at night my DH will often say 'google that!' while we are watching a TV show; whether it is a history point, or the history of a familiar looking actor on TV.

It has been especially important this year to stay in contact with the rest of the world.

Well I can honestly say hand on heart I’m addicted, and I don’t care one bit, I’ve had iPads since they first came out, I say iPads cos I’ve had more than one, I have health issues so my iPad is my life line! As I’m shielding it’s even more important to me! I keep in touch with lots of people through it, I’m yet to find anyone who isn’t addicted to theirs, ??

Definitely addicted. It is a godsend for communication with absent family. Play online bridge so another way to keep in touch with friends. Use it to do drawing on doodle buddy with GC ( only early morning in bed not instead of proper drawing !)
