EllanVannin

I must get an IPad after I've finished buying for the family.

Good luck with that Ellen.
I’ve been trying. I only want a basic one, perhaps if you are looking for a more expensive model you may be lucky.

I don't have an Ipad and don't often use my tablet, but use my laptop all the time. What would we do without the internet?

I’m so glad that we are alike. I sometimes feel guilty about the amount of time I spend on mine. Can pass a few hours just perusing recipes, then never making anything! ?

I’m sure I’d have been taken away in a funny jacket during lockdown without mine! Books, music, photos, and shopping, as well as keeping in touch with people.
I am definitely a fan.

It’s a boon for me as I have health issues which mean I don’t get out and about much. I seem to spend all day on it.

I’m addicted, too, and not at all ashamed of it. It’s a magic thing. If some writer of fairy tales like Hans Andersen had imagined it, we would accept it as fantasy. “There’s this little flat thing, and on it you can see people on the other side of the world, see and hear famous people of the past or present speaking, see and listen to great musicians, read almost unlimited books, go up and down unfamiliar streets - and all without leaving your house, or indeed your chair”.

I ❤️ my iPad. I think I’m addicted. I’m trying to blame my two week quarantine after travelling back from Spain...

I might have to give it up for Lent next year!

Our internet was out for 36 hours ... it felt like 36 days.

I spend far too much time on the iPad... internet shopping, reading the Guardian (we don’t even buy a paper copy now, we subscribe to the on line edition), watching catch up tv, listening to the radio, grocery shopping...

Then there’s Zoom, WhatsApp, Teams, Facebook, Instagram....
eBay ...
Amazon Prime ...

It’s been great for me as I have been shielding for most of the year.

Me too, books are on it, music too, boards on Pinterest, photos, GN, News, Facebook, Netflix...........and I’ve just downloaded the sky at night.
As someone else said I didn’t know I needed it until I got one.

I love mine too, currently on my third, dh is toying with no 2, but I freely admit, I am an iPad addict.

Not an ipad, but love my kindle fire hd.

Use it to read books in bed too, as it doesn't disturb Mr P, which the bedside light would with a proper book.

I love mine, it goes everywhere with me, I go on forums, read the news do my accounts, ft everyone, do my shopping, listen to music, read, listen to audio books, play games. I would be lost with out it, I had a printer for my birthday, so I print everything now as well,

BlueBelle Thu 10-Dec-20 16:45:50

Me too
It goes to bed with me in case I wake up in the night it’s my best friend and keeps me in contact with the world
My three children bought it for my 70th birthday I broke it unexpectedly last year, my bag strap broke I thought it was ok and it was for a while but the crack was unstable so unmendable, after a few months when I thought all was ok it started playing up and I bought myself a new one last year
I can’t imagine what I did before I had one and I didn’t even know I needed one ?

Same here it’s been my saviour this last year.

Jaxjacky Thu 10-Dec-20 16:27:37

It’s become my ‘window onto the world’ much more this year, I use it to chat, zoom and play with photos. Thank goodness for technology!

tinaf1 Thu 10-Dec-20 16:16:48

Very similar to you holly steers, ?

Blossoming Thu 10-Dec-20 16:16:40

I love mine, it’s a godsend for someone with impairments.

hollysteers Thu 10-Dec-20 16:12:22

I remember my daughter giving me my first IPad and looking at it suspiciously. Now it seems attached to my hand, Particularly during lockdown.
I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing as I could be getting on with more creative things, but a whole world resides there, kindle, Gransnet? photos, friends etc. etc. I have a love/hate relationship with it.
How do you feel about yours?
