I don't think they are parking tickets, i.e. penalties/fines, they are the ones you get from the machine when you pay to park.

So the traffic warden would have to look closely at all of them to see if one was valid for that day and time.

Thank you Phoenix, I'm dim. I just felt sympathy for the traffic warden.

I got parking fine last year. It was a very windy day and my parking ticket must have blown out of the car. I wouldn't have minded so much, only we'd rushed back from shopping so as not to go over my allotted time. I could have stayed out all day!

I'd be tempted to add to it if I were a traffic officer. But here in British Columbia, it you don't pay your tickets, you don't get your insurance renewed.
