How the other half lives! Spoke with our Brisbane branch of the family and thankfully they had no problems with all that stormy weather except that their swimming pool is now a mess covered with leaves, twigs and assorted air-borne rubbish.
Cleaning it will definitely be called “working from home”

We are definitely in a milder weather pattern, although storms promised tomorrow.
Forgot to mention I had a haircut just before the hot weather arrived; good timing otherwise steam would have been coming out my ears.

Jane You’re an avid reader of “The Oldie” mag. so give us some examples of what you call modern jokes. As you know, I have to be extra careful not to demean anyone or anything, but you’re a Scot!
Actually, looking for Scotch jokes on the Internet I could only find this;

Lady settles back in dentist’s chair.
“Comfy?” enquires the dentist.
“Govan” replies the lady.

I’ve a similar one, but I don’t want to be sent to the Sin-Bin over Christmas.
Thank goodness You-Tube will be available and the “old-fashioned comedy” beats most of the “modern” stuff any day of the week.

Jaxjacky I guess that the Poundland surveillance prog. was similar to the Aldi one.Most evenings there’s more than one interesting documentary on TV, although Michael P. is beginning to irritate; Last evening he got off the train at Canterbury and the next minute he’s holding forth as Tom. A’Beckett in the cathedral.
When he’s Morris dancing, singing in a choir, caber tossing I begin to squirm.

It’s 12.30am and no wonder it’s much cooler.
