Fed up today. Have waited in for a parcel and no sign of it!
Talking of potatoes I made leek and potato soup today. DH's favourite. It tastes great but the only snag is that I've overdone the spuds so it's more like potato jelly! It's retrievable but it doesn't look very appetising. Hmmm I could blindfold DH... wanders off

Hope things are better in Australia now, Rufus! I have family out there and in NZ who have been very pragmatic about it all.

Slightly horrified that it’s Thursday already - where did the week go and who made all this mess in my house?!

Hi Rufus, maybe my Dad was wrong then, scotch eggs haven very topical here lately! Not sure about the potatoes, but not from the allotment, I have some stored temporarily from the local farm shop, they’re good quality and BIG. I detest peeling small potatoes, usually delegated to Mr J if that’s the case. We’re fairly mild weather wise, rain yesterday, sun today, getting cold for Christmas Day.
Take care ?

Hello Rufus: good to hear your news as usual.

We got lovely surprise from Gson in NSW via London this morning!Goodies to eat and drink from luxury store where the Queen shops I believe.

No we never visited NZ family, couldn’t afford it when we were younger and now a bit too infirm ?‍???‍?... Speak by phone now and then, they’ve been there about 50 years now.

News just now that our area now Tier 3, Will it ever end. Don’t think it’ll affect us a lot although we were going to son forChristmas Eve lunch, original plan of pub lunch is already scuppered, not sure about visit now.

Oh well Cheers-as before ?????

Sorry to read about your latest troubles. Christmas being “cancelled” is obviously a figure of speech, but nonetheless it doesn’t do much for morale! tchsad

Weather now more settled, but with high humidity due to complete cloud cover, no breeze whatsoever and a 5 minute thunderstorm a little while ago. Fortunately none of the NSW/Queensland flooding and extremely heavy downpours and none of the cricket-ball size hail!
Who would have thought lobsters would become a “panic -buy” item? Would you have to keep them in the bath till Christmas. They wouldn’t last long in the bird bath!

Jaxjacky I was taught that “Scotch” appllied to all things inanimate as opposed to animate!
Such as; Scotch egg, Scotch salmon, Scotch broth, whisky, etc. tchconfused
Saw elsewhere that you’ve bought some esoteric spuds for Christmas, At least I think it was you, are they grown in a pot for Christmas in your allotment shed. Saw your new kitchen; very smart and not a bad price! What’s the floor made of?

Somebody on the building site opposite woke me up at 6.30 this morning sounding like an all steel band with bongo drums.
Unlike Burlington Bertie I arose at 7.30 and of course there’s been no action since.

Looks like our pandemic situation is settling int o pattern that might be with us for a very long time. Anybody in meet and greet jobs dealing with passengers returning from overseas is obviously at risk of becoming +ve, often moving from job to job!

Must press on.
