DH had his a week ago. No side effects except a tender arm.Our biggest problem was getting there. We had to go to a village hall at the back of beyond along very narrow roads and the parking was horrendous as so many people were being done .It was also dark as he had a 4.30 appointment.
It is an interesting point about the warfarin Ellan. I am on it too but have heard that a friend of a friend could not have the jab because she is on it. I don't think this is true but I would like reassurance although it will not be my turn for a while.
My DH was asked to take a list of medications and proof of identity but he was asked for neither.

Ellan you have every right to think about it before going ahead and making an informed choice, especially as you are on warfarin.

I had the first injection two weeks ago and the second after Christmas. No problems just a slight ache for a short time. So pleased I am 87 and until a recent hospital visit had not been out since March.

Our surgery will not be getting any supplies until mid January, DH will be among the first cohort to receive it as he is 82. I'm 73 si will have to wait for mine.

That's made me feel a lot better trisher. I've followed every guideline there's been and have only visited large supermarkets 3 times since March, etc. etc. so it's not as though I've stepped out of line in any way either to infect or be infected.

EllanVannin I don't think you should be at all ashamed of asking for time to think. This is a new vaccine. There are now 6 cases of anaphylactic shock after vaccination in the US. That's out of just over 200,000 vaccinations. You are entitled to consider your own health first.

Reading this makes me feel so ashamed that when offered the jab at the beginning of the month I asked the receptionist if I could think about it.

The phone-call was completely out of the blue and I was quite unprepared as because my warfarin level had been " in range " it was higher than my previous test so I was wondering about effects----which nobody has mentioned.

It's now left to me to phone them back at some point, but because of the nature of the vaccine, temperature etc. it could well be the synthetic one, Pfizer or Moderna. I may now wait until my next INR test and have the jab at the same time at the end of January.

I am in 3 but my area is doing rearranging because of a shortage of vaccine so I do not expect my jab until Easter and I am 77 with 2 mega problems.

It will be a long time before I get mine, at age 64 with no underlying health conditions, I’m in category 7 out of the 9 think!

A couple of friends who are NHS workers have had their first one. One said her arm was 'tender' the other felt no effects at all

My uncle has had it. He was among the first in this area. He's a vaccine wimp but said that he's had no side effects.
