Well; the festivities are almost over here! How about a Christmas cracker joke? tchhmm

Jack goes for a walk with his mate and takes his poodle.
They pass the pub and he says to his mate, ‘Let’s go in for one.’
‘You can’t,’ says his mate. ‘The sign says no dogs are allowed.’
‘Oh, it’ll be alright,’ says Jack, and they walk in.
When they go inside, the barman says, ‘No dogs allowed in here.’
Jack suddenly looks at the ceiling and says, ‘This is my guide dog.’
The barman says, ‘Oh, come off it. I’d believe it if it was a Labrador.’
Jack continues to look up at the ceiling and says, ‘Oh no! What have they given me?’

Beats ironing! tchgrin
How did you all survive the excitement? Of course, you've not had Boxing Day lunch of left-overs yet!
Mine was quite modest, Homestyle pumpkin soup and honey-flavoured potato chips. Incidentally, I notice the average size is now down to 165gm, but the price is the same!
My lite light lunch was more than enough with the temp. at 32C most of the day under a cloudless sky. Ideal for the Test match at the MCG; Tomorrow 34C!

The gate was about 30,000,; normally 100,00, That's what social distancing can do! tchhmm
Spoke with family and ex-neighbour in Windsor yesterday and they are OK, fortunately. Her daughter-in-law works for United Airlines and has managed a few trips to the USofA and Germany lately, but seems like a mixed blessing to me; nice to be working again for money, but conditions must be very trying.
She must be in her fifties and still employed whereas there used to be a time when "Air stewardesses" were shown out at a certain age!

I watch a bit of Filipino TV News at breakfast time live from Manila, which is very interesting. Apart from the mixed language incorporating much Covid references the camera work is very professional and the live background shots are of interest showing practically everyone wearing a face mask and a plastic face shield.
We haven't come to that yet!
Not much TV to comment on. The Royal Command Variety thing at Blackpool, the Royals probably thankful they weren't there, was terrible. I'd rather watch a YouTube Eric and Ernie's 1987 Christmas special!
The neighbours quizzed me the other evening about a TV series "The Pallises?" concerning the use of certain expressions, expecting me to know the answers. tchconfused.
Must be on YouTube somewhere.
Now you can start cleaning up all the party debris and stick all the empties outside!
Good Health wine wine wine

Hi Rufus, a quiet day today, later it won’t be, we have storm Bella coming in to the south coast, batten down the hatches! The inevitable bubble, squeak and cold for tea, homemade pickled onions and various other condiments. Lots of football on TV today, good job too, the rest of it is c**p..sorry, not to our taste.
It’s my son’s 30th on the 2nd January, no parties or pubbing this year. But, onwards we strive, my birthday is 1st March, hopefully things have improved a bit by then. Anyway, have a decision to make, mince pie or Christmas pudding, I don’t really have a sweet tooth, but detest waste.
Take care ?

Hello Rufus very quiet Day yesterday, Big Son brought us a Christmas Eve dinner to our doorstep! We’d intended a lunch out with them which inevitably couldn’t happen so they ‘delivered it ready cooked and delicious.Lunch on the Day was at 6 o’clock due to What’s App meetings and The Hobbit recorded last week. Very strange Christmas this year for many people, we all said ‘next year’, here’s hoping.
Expecting grocery delivery tomorrow, couldn’t get one before but not really short of anything so lucky really.
Cheers ????????

Quiet day yesterday. Turkey etc but minus the family it was pretty sad.
TV wasn't great. I was glad I'd recorded an old Poirot Christmas special. I've got a Morecombe and Wise for later.
Hard to imagine 32°. I'm sitting in 2 jumpers plus a shawl and the heating on. It's wild outside.
My blood pressure is slowly coming back down after the stress of trying to set up my new Fitbit: a present from DD. Very nosy devices. I'm not telling it my weight!

Hello Rufus from the wilds of Northants. Pouring with rain and blowing a gale.
Very nice day yesterday but not the same seeing son and family on a screen. We missed the DGDs handing all the presents out in their elf hats.
Are too much, but what can you do when DD keeps offering it?
Great afternoon watching rugby today - my team Northampton won!
Home tomorrow, picking up cats on the way back.
