I am possibly alone in this but I am beginning to feel undressed if I venture out without mine on. It keeps me warm. You can hide inside it. (snotty nose, bad breath, etc)
You can go fancy and wear a different pretty one each day or even every time you go out.
I can't help being amused at how the hajib was constantly being mocked by our Rt wing press when really it can be seen as quite liberating. wink
I was in Japan a few years ago and there the facemasks are a fashion statement.

We have to wear them outside here in Malta or face a big fine.
I actually don’t mind wearing a mask, it keeps your face warm now the weather is chilly and hides a multitude of sins.grin

My DD posted this photo whilst she was shopping in the US. I like it.

I probably won't go as far as "like" but I definitely don't mind them. I like finding pretty ones, I've bought a fair few for charity, and my favourites are from a company in Huddersfield that switched from making suits to making masks as a way to keep the company going and people employed.

I only wear reading glasses, so I don't have steaming issues, except in the supermarket if I'm trying to read the contents on a a packet without picking it up.

No, I've had to start wearing a viser. I've really tried with the masks but they make me panic

MissAdventure Mon 28-Dec-20 00:34:21

Oh I'm glad to do so. tchgrin

MissA.....you’ve given me a couple of laughs ??

MissAdventure Sun 27-Dec-20 23:22:40

Do you, Callistemon?
You'll feel naked when it's safe to go without. (Whenever that may be)

BlueBelle Sun 27-Dec-20 23:01:39

I hate wearing them but of course I do in shops but not out in the fresh air I think it’s more important to get the fresh air in your lungs

Callistemon Sun 27-Dec-20 22:40:29

MissA I feel so much more confident in a face mask and reactolite specs.

MissAdventure Sun 27-Dec-20 22:39:14

I've got them too.
On my chin, and around where the elastic goes. (Probably just as well to keep my face covered!)

Callistemon Sun 27-Dec-20 22:38:17

MissAdventure

I've actually been told 4 times that I look good in a mask. confused
I'm not sure whether to be pleased or offended.

???

I rather went off them after I'd made about 35 of the darned things.

I don't mind wearing facemasks but am I the only one who keeps getting spots on my chin from wearing them? I'm sporting a huge, red, painful pimple on my chin right now!

BlueSky grin

I always wear them, but dont like them. I do not wear earings as much now, as I seem to lose them.

Jaxjacky Sun 27-Dec-20 22:17:48

Curlygran55 I bought mine from Alder Hey website, three washable, they were designed by a medical professional, can’t recall exactly.

I don't like wearing a mask but wear one out of necessity when going shopping or into public places. I find it steams up my glasses, makes my throat feel dry, my chest feel tight and my nose run, so no, I don't like wearing it. It sounds as if you've found a mask that might be more bearable to wear, geekesse

geekesse Sun 27-Dec-20 21:56:44

Grammaretto, I’ve sent you details by PM.

MissAdventure Sun 27-Dec-20 21:53:04

Oh yes!
The tops of my ears feel bruised.
I have to wear the ones provided by work (when I'm at work) and they really hurt now.

Grammaretto Sun 27-Dec-20 21:48:19

geekesse may I ask where you found the perfect mask in the end?
I think I would hate it if I had to wear one all the time so it would be good to have one which avoids steamed up specs or sore ears.

geekesse Sun 27-Dec-20 21:41:31

I have to wear a mask for 10-15 hours per day for my job. I spent time and money, using trial and error, to find a type of mask I could wear that long every day. I ended up with a three-layer shaped cotton mask with a pocket that takes a filter. It has a bendy metal strip over the nose so it is tight enough to prevent glasses misting. It goes under my chin, and has adjustable elastic ear loops. Once I’d found a mask I could live with, I bought four identical ones so I can wear up to two each day, and I change the filters every day.

I’ll never actually like wearing a mask, but I have now got to the point where I feel undressed if I enter a building without one.

MissAdventure Sun 27-Dec-20 21:38:49

I still get the bus, and stumble on, not able to see where I'm going.
Then I have to fiddle with my phone for ages to find my e ticket, which makes my glasses steam up more.

Then when I've found a seat, I can guarantee I have a really itchy nose because some of my hair has ended up in the mask.

Urmstongran Sun 27-Dec-20 21:36:11

That made me laugh MissA!
?
Actually I’m finding them cosy in this cold weather!

They were awful in Spain - 38°C walking outside this summer - mandatory & police about on the streets. A Spanish friend wasn’t wearing hers one day in Fuengirola. The police stopped her and asked where her mask was? She shrugged. (silly girl - we’d all been warned often enough to wear them at all times). He asked her was it in her bag? No?

Fined her €300.
Ouch.

I have been fine, wearing one anytime I am out of my apartment since March. But all of a sudden, I am struggling with them.

I have the more expensive, N95 cone shaped ones. Very safe, but HOT. I also have the regular surgical masks, which suddenly feel as if they are pressing my nose too hard.

Weird. Still not going out bare faced though.

Grammaretto Sun 27-Dec-20 21:34:22

I expected that reaction and I agree you don't want to be wearing one all the time (stuffy and damp) but for shopping or getting the bus (when that was an option) it isn't so bad.

Curlygran55 Sun 27-Dec-20 21:32:09

Jaxjacky, OMG it's taken me too long to find a design that doesn't steam up my glasses. DD found it on etsy for me, good design. Also found cloth on Amazon that works. But whole Ordeal of wearing a mask with glasses is pants!

Grannybags Sun 27-Dec-20 21:30:17

I wear them whenever I have to to protect myself and others but I don't enjoy it.

I wear glasses and spend most of the time peering over the top of misty lenses! Makes me very hot and bothered.
