Time marches on. I know that because our day for putting out our weekly garbage bins seems to be coming round every 5 days.
We’re once again being swamped by experts over our latest outbreaks, but at least all is calm at the frontiers now that they are shut.
Apparently part of the problem stems from a young couple escaping security and hence quarantine on arrival at the airport from Sydney. Police caught up with them at an up country town and now TV News is reporting they each face fines of $15,000. How realistic is that? What would be the chances of the average person finding that sort of money? Might have some deterrent value I suppose.
We feel very sorry seeing the state of affairs regarding
the very tight accommodation problems in your hospitals. Staff must feel absolutely overwhelmed.

Kim Thank you for your compliment! It made my day. Any comments on my lunch menus are most welcome too! I’ll keep away from Letitia Cropley though!

JaneThat’s a rotten crowd of yobs. Can you do anything? Hiring one of those water cannons like they use in HK and using purple dye would help in identification, but I guess civil liberty issues would intervene!
Move into Edinburgh Castle for a spell. They must be short of tourist dollars just now!
“Traditional (Scottish?)” steak pie doesn’t sound too bad; compare that with my evening dinner “Farmhouse Stew”! tchhmm

Jaxjacky What are good for the soul are jokes, even ones about the Corona virus.
You have to look at the news frequently, surely, to keep up with developments with this new virus strain.!
I’m sure it’s not the right season to squat in your allotment shed , unless it’s fully furnished and you wouldn’t want to leave a TV set unattended.

Weather today was hot 30C then warm, finishing up with heavy showers and humid throughout; no thunderstorms.

It’s now midnight and cool.

Hi Rufus, yes, jokes are good for the soul, the best ones were always in the pub, with the banter....eventually we’ll be back there.
I tend to follow the News online more than TV, I can be a bit more selective keeping an eye locally. No frost this morning, just damp and chilly, but I’m reading ‘possibilities’ later in January of some significant weather as a low pressure moves in from the West and meets the cold air from the NE. Sounds like a dynamic tryst!
I’d tell you a coronavirus joke now, but would have to wait 14 days to see if you get it....

Take care ?

Hello Rufus, Just had text from son in Sydney, just gone into stricter lockdown apparently, masks mandatory and closures, but not big case numbers.
As you know, pretty dire here, we only watch news occasionally, ostriches have nothing on us.....
We are not going anywhere, my husband now had The Letter, telling him to shield again but seeing its so cold staying in is not a problem!! Still waiting to hear about the vaccination, we are both ,we thought, in the vulnerable lot. Have you got it in your place yet?
Lots of idiots still letting off loud fireworks late at night here, not even ‘pretty’ ones.
Cheers????????

Good Evening Rufus and everyone. Cold here today with Winter Sunshine.
Enjoying my last evening with the Christmas Tree, as I will take it down tommorow as I am as back at work in Monday.
