I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

Thanks nanna8.

A woodland walk tonight

A small tortoiseshell living it up on my rockery.

This is such a lovely thread. Thank you everyone.

On today's walk. Where's our lunch?

nanna8 Tue 30-Mar-21 23:33:56

Big day for us today, we will probably get a new cat. I have been missing our old cat so much and 6 months later, it is time. Going to the local rescue centre to find someone. I know it is silly but my whole life I have never been without one until now. Cat lovers will ‘get’ it. That’s our old boy who walked in off the street and stayed with us for 20 years.

That picture must mean more than 1000 words to you nanna8. Photos of your new cat would be brilliant.

I wish we had a "like" button for all the lovely photos. It has meant a lot to see them over the past year.

Goldfinches feeding on spent lavender heads. I wonder if their breath smells nice?

Lisagran Thu 01-Apr-21 19:19:29

Lovely pics of goldfinches, Greyduster. Did you see that I thought your daffs were Mondragon?

Spring in the garden

Greyduster Thu 01-Apr-21 20:59:31

Yes, thanks Lisa, I did. I’ve made a note. We bought a lot of bulbs at Harrogate - I can’t remember what any of them are now?. I’m just grateful if they come up every year! I like the collage - I must learn to do that.

My little plum tree has started to blossom it’s head off as usual, but we are lucky to get about half a dozen plums off it - last year it was two! We love it anyway!

cornergran Fri 02-Apr-21 15:51:39

I’ve been enjoying all the images but haven’t had any to share. These two are at each end of our tiny garden. Don’t be fooled by the blue sky, there’s an icy wind today.

Ellianne Fri 02-Apr-21 16:22:58

Icy winds for some, warm and calm down here for us.

Greyduster Fri 02-Apr-21 18:13:41

Happy Easter.
These guys lived in my GDs bedroom over the school holidays during lockdown.
No animal cruelty, it was all part of a project.

Tulips in the garden

Bellanonna Mon 05-Apr-21 10:59:02

Lovely collage Lisagran. Were these all from your garden?

Ellianne Mon 05-Apr-21 11:01:11

So pretty. Pink will always be my favourite colour.

Greyduster Mon 05-Apr-21 11:35:12

More wind bent daffs confined to a vase, along with some hellebores. However, the next day the hellebores had wilted considerably. Does anyone know if this is the norm? I have never used them as a cut flower before.

Lovely collage Lisagran. Were these all from your garden?

Yes, all in the garden - in pots. Only a small garden, but I pack stuff in! (This pic from last year)

A lovely display Lisagran
