I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

I do enjoy seeing everyone’s photos. Thank you all.

My offering today is a fishing lake near our son’s home, we walked round it in warm sunshine and sat on a bench just, well, looking Excellent.

A rare glimpse of a male whitethroat this afternoon on our walk. I’ve only seen three in my life. He was singing his heart out with the zoom as far as it would go - then obligingly came to pose nearer.

Venturing out today to pastures new-ish this was my view as I sat with a cuppa and a (far too) large slice of carrot cake. I’m trying to kid myself the walk dealt with the calories hmm.

It's a beautiful evening in the Tyne Valley. Looking from my garden over the chimneys towards the North Pennines.

I love bluebells. These were taken last week. Heligan and the access to our holiday cottage,

MiniMoon Sat 29-May-21 17:51:21

My favourite bluebell woods. Taken a couple of years ago but it is the right time if year.

Beautiful rhodi greyd. Ours finished a couple of weeks ago. There was I thinking we hadn't experienced particularly mild weather hmm.

Greyduster Fri 28-May-21 22:56:08

No roses yet, but this rhodi is putting on a good show.

Giving me the eye!

This is a drop of water trapped in the middle of a lupin leaf, but it looked rather alien!

Aldom Fri 28-May-21 13:08:39

Just had a visit from Jackdaws.

Greyduster Fri 28-May-21 08:02:20

That’s a beauty! Mine are nowhere near flowering yet.

cornergran Thu 27-May-21 22:29:00

Spiders, ducks, pheasants? Can’t compete with any of those, all wonderful in their own way, yes even the spider

Not so interesting but I was thrilled today to see our first garden rose of the year.

NotAGran55 Thu 27-May-21 21:52:40

My little pheasant family.

Hellogirl1 Thu 27-May-21 21:47:40

Sorry May7, I have an aversion to creepy crawlies.

Greyduster Thu 27-May-21 19:18:16

A delightful little family of Mandarin ducks on Agden reservoir. Father is rather splendid.
