I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

Pure gold on a sunny Sunday afternoon yesterday.

I spotted four and one that looks like a lions head.? Lovely rushing water.

The burn, below the faces.

One of my favourite walks is along the burn. It's a historic place, having been industrial in the 19th century, quarrying, lime burning and brick making.
These are the faces in the rock.

Fantastic photo's! These are from a walk Thursday in fields between Bridgnorth and Wolverhampton.

Adders come out when it starts to get warm in the woods and on the moors here. There have been some tragic accidents when dogs investigate them. He was on a path in the woods.

Greyduster Sun 18-Apr-21 09:10:26

Blimey! Where did you meet that?

Ellianne Sun 18-Apr-21 08:51:13

Crikey, life is dangerous at times!

I love silver birches, whether on a hillside in the sun like yours, GQ, or the ones planted in front of Tate Modern. At home in any setting.

Lovely greyduster, Happy Birthday PDBP! These great spaces that we have really are something to be celebrated.
This isn’t a national park but a managed woodland where there’s been a lot of planned deforestation - hence the tree stumps. The view across the reservoir was a pleasant end to a sunny day yesterday.

Today is the 70th birthday of the Peak District National Park, so I thought I would post a few Peak District photos.

A long shot across to the sea yesterday.

Picture 3 looks almost 3 dimensional grannyqueenie. Stunning!

Cs783 Wed 14-Apr-21 12:45:42

Oh yes grannyqueenie lessons from nature can be harsh! flowers

grannyqueenie Wed 14-Apr-21 11:30:24

Enjoyed a visit to some local gardens yesterday. It was a crisp sunny day but I felt so sad to see rhododendron blooms, lying like a carpet of autumn leaves, decimated by the harsh weather. But then other shrubs and trees appeared unscathed, just like us some are more tender than others.

No, the original photo was 5.3mb and I hadn’t noticed! That’s exactly how blue it’s been all day ?

Ellianne Mon 12-Apr-21 16:43:04

Blossoming

Apparently my photo was too big!

Or too blue!! Lovely how the sky matches the water.
