I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

Lovely picture of Henry, Joseanne

Kate what is at the bottom of your Bakewell photograph please?
Is it ‘things’ attached to a bridge?
Thank you!

Two views from our Hotel in Sorrento. DH and I were there from 6th to 13th May. We had a fantastic holiday and didn't want it to end.

Fanny They are padlocks with messages on them to loved ones. Usually couples have their names engraved in them. There are some in memory of lost loved ones too.
I have seen them on several bridges around the UK, although some have been removed from some bridges for fear of damaging the bridge.

Aren’t the rhodis wonderful this year? This one had an amazing scent. You could smell it before you saw it!

This morning my friend and I did a Jubilee walk...

The Mall, campers and a corgi ?

Then on to Downing Street, The Cenotaph and Big Ben, finally minus the scaffolding.

At Downing Street we were held back as the gates opened and a large van was coming out. I asked the policeman who put the barrier in front of us as the van passed "is it a removal van?" (it was a catering company). As he moved the barrier to let us pass he said "are you disappointed?" grin

Well, that made me chuckle, Riverwalk . Lovely photos, everyone: thank you.

Thank you all for the lovely photos. It's like a little peek into everyone else's life.

For the last two days we've been engrossed watching families of blue tits, great tits, greenfinches, robins, goldfinches, starlings, and blackbirds fighting over the feeders, with rows of young ones sitting on top being fed. I wish we had some pictures but they never come out well enough. No young nuthatches or spotted woodpeckers yet but they my still turn up.

The winner takes it all at a Jubilee dog show today.

Stanage Edge in the Peak District yesterday morning before it got busy! Lots of climbers though. You wouldn’t want to be looking where he’s looking!?

Lovely doggie Joseanne - and your doggie dress!

Stunning scenery Greyduster - did you peer over?

We found out we're going to get a new grandbaby in November, so I decided to try crochet again. We used to do it in school between the ages of say about 11-14 (boarding school, so our own choice).
Here's a poppy, and some granny squares to be made into a blanket. I've made one blanket already and my daughter says I'm 'turning into a proper Northern granny' now! Haha

Ali08 Fri 03-Jun-22 17:53:47

Oh flipping heck, ignore the shoes. I don't know how they managed to get there?!

Greyduster Fri 03-Jun-22 22:22:44

Absolutely not! I’ve seen it looking up from below!

I snapped this chap in the botanical gardens last week. I don’t know where he got the walnut from but I hope he enjoyed it!

Greyduster Sun 05-Jun-22 11:33:38

Sorry image disappeared!
