Does anyone else just stay in their pajamas if you're not going out

I wanna know if I'm just being lazy haha. I just don't see the point in getting into nicer clothes if I'm just going to sit in my house all day. I suffer from RA and getting dressed is a struggle sometimes anyway.

Although I did get myself dressed this morning as I went out for a walk along the seafront. I can safely say it was freezing.

Hope you're all keeping well xx

Absolutely not . I couldn’t face the day without a shower, hair wash, makeup and perfume.

I never stay in pyjamas. Get up, shower, get dressed, dry hair and put on makeup.

lemsip depends on how I'm feeling. I do like a bath in the evening, but I have been known to shower or bathe during the day. It's one thing I love about lockdown I can have a lovely bubble bath during the day and no one disturbs me.

If I get to that stage I will be ready for the knacker’s yard.

Surely the only reason not to get dressed is if you are ill?

I get up and shower every morning by 8.30 If a person stays in pjs all day do you shower and put pjs back on...or not shower each day? just wondering! I live alone and have no visitors!

Pyjamas in bed, otherwise Orlin’s hairy chest tickles my back.
Get up late, shower and dress in comfy clothes for a daily walk. Back in pjs at bedtime.
I did dress up over Christmas just so that it felt special. I will try to do that regularly, maybe weekends, because it did make me feel good.

I would never stay in PJs unless I was ill, (not that I wear PJs).
I am enjoying wearing clothes I perhaps haven’t worn for ages, eg big jumpers and cardigans. I am also starting to wear some of my slightly better clothes, not just slopping around.
This week I am back into routine of doing voluntary work from home and Zoom choirs, church. Makes me feel better,

No way! I always shower, wash and style my hair, and normally put jeans/jeggings and a warm top on. I just feel 'unclean' if I miss my shower. Don't wear pyjamas, but have some for if I have to go to hospital. Also invested in some loungewear if I feel like a day in something looser - never pyjamas though! Haven't bothered much with make-up since last March. Will have to attempt a trim of my fringe before too long.

No, I do not as I would find it uncomfortable to be without a bra.

Oh my goodness, I had forgotten! I went 3 months without a bra in the last lockdown. Bliss!

I always get dressed but only wear a crop top instead of a bra unless I am going out. Don’t want to scare anyone?

I take my time in the mornings but do have a shower and wash my hair every day.
I wear ‘round the house’ clothes but these are getting smarter as my work wardrobe gets pressed into ‘round the house’ service. I put earrings and a necklace every day and a spritz of perfume.

I do go for a walk every day, but wear my ‘round the house’ clothes, under my big coat. So if I bump into anyone I know ... at least I am reasonably ‘respectable’.

My pyjama tops are like baggy T shirts so I often stay in the top over jeans while I'm doing housework. I have to change out of the bottoms though because it's freezing outside and there are logs to be split and brought in.

I didn’t say anyone WAS depressed just that by not washing dressing or generally keeping up your appearance and daily routine is a way of sliding into becoming less interested in life
and could turn into depression
To keep your routine even if not needed I think is important it’s a internal message to yourself that you are still of value and life is still happening even if it doesn’t seem very normal at the moment

Blossoming Tue 05-Jan-21 16:41:37

No, only when I’ve been too ill to get out of bed.

cornishpatsy Tue 05-Jan-21 16:40:37

If they are worn during the day when are they changed? I would not wear the same underwear for 24hrs and see pjs the same as they are worn next to skin.

NanaandGrampy Tue 05-Jan-21 16:37:56

I have pjs , i just don't wear them in bed. I do wear them all day everyday if I'm not going out during a lockdown.

They're more loungewear than pjs - probably lol

The way I see it , they are comfy, don't need ironing and are perfectly acceptable !

Whitewavemark2 Tue 05-Jan-21 16:35:49

My daily routine since retiring hasn’t really changed, lockdown or not.

I get up in pyjamas. Do all necessary housework, washing, ironing etc. Then shower and dress. PJs into wash bin. And then start the day doing what I really want to do. I am wearing just the same as I’ve always done according to my days plans. So today, has been a bit of a relaxed day, just gardening, walking and reading, so just a warm sweater and trousers.

grannyrebel7 Tue 05-Jan-21 16:35:21

I feel dirty if I don't get showered and dressed, but that's just me. Do whatever feels comfortable for you.

Then I'm way down the slippery slope! Still sledging is fun!

blondenana Tue 05-Jan-21 16:13:28

No never, usually if awake early get up make a coffee take it back to bed,on kindle for about an hour,
Get up, dressed, make up as usual
I couldn't stay in pjs all day,but seen people at the local shop in pjs and dressing gowns
My 2 sons who live in flats spend the day sometimes in dressing gowns, but they are vulnerable so don't go out much unless absolutely necessary
Shower evenings then get in pjs, rarely before proper bedtime
I feel it's a slippery slope to spend all day in pjs

BigBertha1 Tue 05-Jan-21 16:13:09

I do wear comfy things all day like leggings and big jumpers but we get into our 'nighties' as we say straight after dinner - about 7pm. I really am going to walk everyday through this lockdown, drink less and not snack so much. I'm ashamed of the weight I put on last year and did get some off so going to give it a go again.

EllanVannin Tue 05-Jan-21 16:09:18

Never. I'd feel as if I was ill when I wasn't grin When my time's up I want to die with my boots on,. hopefully.

trisher Tue 05-Jan-21 16:04:07

Alicejane I'm with you on this (and I'm not depressed been there and know how it feels) I've got great jammies, lovely dressing gown, a fleecy jumper I sometimes wear instead and comfy slippers. They are too nice just to sleep in! I do dress my top half for zoom meetings and properly for zoom excersise classes. But the rest of the time. No way!!

M0nica Tue 05-Jan-21 15:59:02

I completely agree with SuzannahM Like her, for me wearing pyjamas or any 'lounge' wear in day time signifies being ill. In fact of I feel to unwell to dress, then I will probably tell everyone I am having a 'tracksuit day', and if they see me in them they know I am not well, be it migraine or bug.

Getting up and dressed properly - what is the difference between comfort and elegance? I have never worn anything, elegant or not, that is uncomfortable - says I am ready to take on the world, whatever it brings.

AGAA4 Tue 05-Jan-21 15:50:28

I always get dressed but lounge about in my dressing gown for the first hour or so but then feel the need to 'get on with my day'so shower and dress.
