Does anyone else just stay in their pajamas if you're not going out

I wanna know if I'm just being lazy haha. I just don't see the point in getting into nicer clothes if I'm just going to sit in my house all day. I suffer from RA and getting dressed is a struggle sometimes anyway.

Although I did get myself dressed this morning as I went out for a walk along the seafront. I can safely say it was freezing.

Hope you're all keeping well xx

Tangerine

No, I do not as I would find it uncomfortable to be without a bra.

Oh my goodness, I had forgotten! I went 3 months without a bra in the last lockdown. Bliss!

Personally, would not dream of staying in my pyjamas all day unless ill. I get dressed as soon as I get up, which is usually early.

However, love to get in my pyjamas and dressing gown after my evening shower. I say ‘evening’ but especially this time of year, can be as early as 3 pm if I have finished for the day.

Only get dressed to walk the dog. My pyjamas are pretty similar to the sort of clothes I wear anyway and I like the fact that they’re loose fitting and cotton. Not many clothes seem to be cotton these days. I do cleanse my face and put on nighttime and daytime moisturiser though.

Up - dressing gown and slippers on. Drink tea and watch tv or come on here. Then about 9.30ish up for a wash/shower and dress in comfortable (elastic waist) trousers and jumper (no bra, just a stretchy vest ^which must be tucked in for warmth)
I have only ever kept night clothes on all day if I have been ill. I totally agree it is a slippery slope to not get dressed.

No, I do not as I would find it uncomfortable to be without a bra.

SuzannahM Tue 05-Jan-21 15:32:38

No. Would if I was really ill and curling up under the duvet for the day possibly.

Live in comfy clothes - jeggings and jumpers mainly, sometimes a nice long shirt, comfy shoes or slippers. Don't wear make up much anymore. Wear earrings and rings everyday (but not any that are going to get in the way), hair still washed and styled as normal. I like to wander into the garden now and again for fresh air if I'm not going for a walk, to see what's going on, wave to the neighbours or whatever. Can't imagine wanting to do anything if I was in pyjamas (not that I've go any!)

I rarely wear anything in bed, pjs if I’m ever ill, and shower every morning so comfortable clothes all day for me.

Missfoodlove Tue 05-Jan-21 15:28:43

I always feel slovenly if I’m still in PJ’s after breakfast.
I find I feel worse if I’m not dressed and made up.
After 6pm though my “stretchies “ are on!

I would hate to stay in my pyjamas all day. I like to get showered and dressed (in comfy but clean clothes) everyday and stick to a routine. It makes me feel more in control of things. ......I'm glad to be back to normal tv and radio programmes too.

tanith Tue 05-Jan-21 15:25:42

No, I only wear pjs in the evening but I'm up showered and dressed every day its just what I do. I walk every day so dressing is a must but can't start my day without a shower.

Mapleleaf Tue 05-Jan-21 15:20:29

No, definitely not.

AliceJane Tue 05-Jan-21 15:20:27

I forgot to say it is only since Covid came about that I've been doing this. Before then I was getting out everyday and pretty much never wore pajamas. But perhaps some of you are right, don't want to start slipping into a depression. Going to make more of an effort from now on smile After all, it's times like these where we really need to look after ourselves xx

GagaJo Tue 05-Jan-21 15:19:42

I got to the point in the last lockdown, where I would not change or shower for 3 days. Then I got totally sick of myself and went back to normal, albeit in lounge clothes (aka day pyjamas).

Jaxjacky Tue 05-Jan-21 15:10:17

I don’t own pyjamas, sleep naked, up, quick wash and teeth, get dressed, jeans and top with a jumper. I grab a shower or bath later.

grannysyb Tue 05-Jan-21 15:09:56

Always get dressed and put slap on, whatever suits you.

No, not comfortable in my night clothes unless I am ill. In any case I often have to go outside with the dogs so it's not practical. I do wear jeans and a polo shirt most days though.

granfromafar Tue 05-Jan-21 15:03:20

I don't as I try to get out for some exercise every day and you never know if someone will ring the doorbell, eg postman or a neighbour needing something. Can perfectly understand those not wanting to get dressed though. I haven't bothered with my usual daily lipstick, though, as I'm generally covered up with a scarf or mask over my face.

ayse Tue 05-Jan-21 15:01:34

I just get dressed when I get up. Pyjamas usually go on from 5.30 onwards when the “working day” is finished. I do have the occasional pj day, just for fun.

BlueBelle Tue 05-Jan-21 14:59:03

No, no, no it’s the first way to slip into depression
I do exactly what I would do if I was going out I shower, dry and spruce up my hair, dress put my makeup on and my earrings
I can’t think of any day in my life I haven’t dressed unless I was in hospital

sharon103 Tue 05-Jan-21 14:58:16

No, It's jeans and top for me during the day.
I need to know the difference between night and day.

FannyCornforth Tue 05-Jan-21 14:57:07

My clothes are all pretty much glorified pyjamas, even when I worked.

Leggings, long cotton top, and long voluminous cotton dresses (with pockets) when it's hot.

No bra ever (cotton / lycra vest - I'm blessed with small boobs, if nothing else) no tights ever.

Ankle boots or fancipants trainers.
I've got comfortable dressing down to a fine art! smile

nadateturbe Tue 05-Jan-21 14:56:20

I shower or bath most days. I don't wash my hair every day as I normally do. Comfy clothes after a walk. I don't feel comfortable if I don't shower.

Puzzler61 Tue 05-Jan-21 14:55:21

I don’t, but can’t deny I’m tempted some days lately ?
Do whatever makes you contented AliceJane.

YorkLady Tue 05-Jan-21 14:55:19

I do think I am reaching that stage! At the moment I only apply “my face” if we are going out walking or the Tesco delivery is due.
Depression seems to be setting around us despite my plan to be positive this year!!

henetha Tue 05-Jan-21 14:52:53

It's not being lazy, it's just your choice. Personally I have to get dressed every day. But not in anything posh, just comfortable
fleecy trousers and a warm top of some sort, and a little touch of make up. It lifts my spirit, I find.
We're all different. Each to his own.
