How long is a reasonable time to....

BigBertha1 I'm currently researching the time it takes to consume a box of Celebrations. However I haven't taken the Covid restrictions into consideration. I may have to start again!

I had some stollen bites at Christmas Alioop and did the same thing, I'm trying not to think about the number of calories

I try to make them last 2 days, but I sit and eat away, watching TV or reading, and when I decide to put the rest away for the following day I realise there's only 3 left in the packet, so then think it's silly not to finish them all then in the one sitting.

Now the whole of England is under 'tier 5' stricter conditions apply. Tell 'your friend' that its very important to eat all the contents of the bag as soon as possible (don't know what the rules are for lower tiers - we'll probably never find out). Current rules mean you can't share surely (such a pity!!!!)

I don’t understand why they use resealable bags, once opened they have to eaten pronto. It’s the lawn in this house and sharing is also not an option when it comes to buttons or any other choccie for that matter.

For me they don't even make it back to the house. I have been known to eat them in the car and still look for them in my shopping when I get home

What a brilliant grandparent you've saved your GC trips to the dentist!!

I don't much like milk or white chocolate, so not keen on Buttons. A packet of jelly babies or mini eggs, however, as soon as they are opened last about 15 minutes!

Can you explain about being able to eat white chocolate without it interfering with sleep, Disco Dancer please?
I suffer with very bad acid reflux so eat 2 Ferrero Rochers (probably wrong spelling) as my treat at lunch time!

BigBertha1, five minutes, preferably with a nice cup of tea - as per usual, I'd say!

My friend buys chocolates and likes to store them in a safe place which no one else knows about but then has to keep checking on them during the day to make sure they are still there. Every time she checks there seems to be at least 1 less and eventually - by the end of day 2 - they seem to have all disappeared. She has no idea what happens to them.

Indefinitely for me! (Like only dark chocolate).

Too busy eating all sorts of choccies to time how long it takes.

Luckily....I hate chocolate . Having said that....it only takes an hour to devour a whole tube of Smokey Bacon Pringles!!

To make matters worse, I found a bag of Cadbury's chocolate orange, giant buttons. I let the DGC try one each, (childcare bubble), then they didn't last very long at all!

Ah mini eggs have been introduced to the conversation a whole new ball game. As I haven't been to a shop I haven't see any yet but I have to go to the dentists on Monday which is near Waitrose so I will see if my friend would like some and make sure I get plenty in case she offers me some.

Love this thread but I don't know how big the £1 bag of buttons is. My dh orders one that costs about £2 and we eat that over three days with a cup of tea in the afternoon but only cos I seal it up after we've had a carefully counted 15 buttons each.

I believe my friend keeps them in the 'secret' drawer in her freezer and does make a few trips to get there during the day.

However, I discovered that although she has promised to keep the unopened box of Hotel Chocolat (the alcoholic ones) to eat with her daughter once restrictions are over she was seen fondling the box and talking about ordering another one just in time for the proposed visit which lets face it could be weeks or even Easter in which case its Egg time. What would you say to her by way of advice - she is clearly heading for trouble.

The trick is to keep them in the fridge. This makes them nice and crisp and having to walk to the fridge to grab a handful is enough exercise to obviate the extra calories.
