Sorry to hear your operation was cancelled at the last moment BBW, it must be so disappointing. Hopefully it can be rescheduled asap when it is safe to do so. Meanwhile I hope you can stay well and as comfortable as possible.
I am very sorry to read about your surgery being cancelled. You must be so disappointed. I hope you have good medication to alleviate any pain or discomfort you may have.
So sorry to hear this Bluebellewould after psyching yourself up for it. I do hope you can hold on for another date without too much pain or suffering, and that you don't have to wait too long. for you.
I hope you are not in too much discomfort Bluebellewould. This is another way that Covid has affected us all. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your operation.
Bluebellewould, you must be so disappointed at the cancellation. However after spending a few days in our local coronary care unit this week, I can tell you, as long as your condition is not life threatening, that home is probably the best place to be at the moment.
You cannot imagine how awful the situation in hospital are.
I do hope your operation takes place before too long and that it is not a too unpleasant and painful time. Looking at this situation from the other side, my DH is currently receiving auto immune therapy at a private hospital which is being used by the NHS for the treatment of cancer patients to keep them shielded. We consider ourselves very lucky.
So sorry this has happened to you at such short notice. I know of others in the same boat.
One very dear friend with kidney cancer has been waiting for an operation to remove his kidney. It should have been done before Christmas and he is still waiting. Our local hospital had it's busiest day ever this last week. If anyone wants an ambulance they have to wait hours.
Very sorry but alas not surprised to read your post Bluebellwould Hope you are not in too much pain and can hold on until medical facilities are available again.
My DiL has had major surgery cancelled for the second time this week. No date as yet, she will need ICU for several days. It is life saving, but not critical as yet. I hope we don't get to that stage, but a very worrying time.
My DP was lucky. He had his (serious) operation on 1st December, the day before the last lockdown finished. We were worried it might be cancelled but it happened just at the right time. Thank god he's fine. Good luck with yours, OP, hopefully this covid situation will end soon and the op will be reinstated.
I was due a much needed op today. I was paying to go private as it was such an urgent need. It’s been cancelled because there are no ICU beds left at the nhs hospital and apparently they can’t do ops without that back up in case something goes drastically wrong. Also the private hospital is being turned over to the NHS on Monday for the foreseeable future. Desperate times indeed. I am just grateful that my problem at the moment is not life threatening, until I end up in A/E again as I did at the beginning of December. I am more sorry for those who are suffering cancer and in need of urgent care and diagnosis. Take care everyone.
