Not sure if this was advice but I once went into school because my daughter struggled with spelling. At the end of meeting the teacher finished with” spelling really doesn’t matter much nowadays”!!!!!!!!!

I too had the raw potato suggestion for RLS but didn't need to try it as the alternative suggestion of a bar of toilet soap was more attractive and worked a treat. Still is. Mind you, messy as it sounds, I would have tried it I was so desperate.

When I was in my thirties my skinny doctor asked what weight I was. I said 10 stone. He said, lose a stone. I was fit and healthy and he had no justification for telling me to lose weight. It actually started a life long battle, joining slimming clubs. All unnecessary.

When I was newly divorced and needing support and help with two small children, my mother told me that I needed to practise being on my own!!! knowing I would have to work she said she had washed up to show me how to save about 30p by not using the dishwasher. this from a woman who never worked, had well sufficient money, home help twice a week, dishwasher egg and didn't drive so never needed to drive her only child anywhere!!! at the same time my retired father , when I asked him if he would mow my lawn while I was a t work, said he had his own work to do and I needed to get a routine!
