It's the same swab - throat first then nose, same end of swab

As Riverwalk says same swab for both and you are handed the swab to do it yourself.

I had to do nose first, then throat with the same swab and that was in hospital.

I then had to do the same way for a follow up home test.

My son had to do it the opposite way at a walk in centre.

That's why its so important to read the instructions! The instructions come with the home test.

Yes throat first, after that (made me gag) the nose thing is a doddle !!

I’ve done two home tests. Instructions are clear and detailed. Throat first. I managed easily. My husband really struggled with the throat swab. We posted as instructions but then discovered the samples were not collected for two days. We did another home test. The first test came back positive for me and negative for him. Second test we were both positive.
I’ve heard of a few people getting a negative followed by a positive. Not sure if it’s because they didn’t carry out the test properly or it wasn’t at the correct time of the infection.

Well, I am in Ireland, and just had one done in a test centre today.
Throat first for 3 seconds performed by a healthworker, then with another swab for 3 seconds in the nose.

When I went to a drive in centre it was done by the personnel there, they did the throat and as I was steering myself for the nose one, they said that was it, throat only! They did make sure I gagged on the throat swab as apparently that what they need.
