Love the exercise bike idea.

any years ago I "invented" an exercise bicycle with a dynamo, linked to a play station. The idea being that the faster the cyclist peddled the faster the games played. This would make exercise more fun, stop youngsters becoming couch potatoes, save on electricity and could be rigged to power other electronic devices. Unfortunately nobody with engineering talents has shown any interest in my idea.

They make the clear hospital plaster thingies, that go over a dressing. THEY stay on through washing, dressing etc. If they can make those, why can't they make plasters that stick?

crazyH - my skin breaks down into little cuts which make me yelp every time I wash my hands! Plasters are a must.

I would also like labels on purchases to be removable without leaving goo.

Speaking of plasters, I have regular blood tests, and have to have a plaster as I am a ‘bleeder’! The ones they use at the Surgery, I swear would stay there forever if not ripped off, and trying to ease up a corner to rip takes patience. What a pity they are not available to purchase.

An automatic washing machine which folds and puts away clothes.

I don't like waterproof plasters at all, prefer fabric ones.
However, I put one on my leg yesterday and by the time I pulled my trousers on, it had rolled up into a little ball!

Liquid plasters - are they anything like Newskin which caused such agony on cuts when I was a child?

Luckygirl, I suffer from eczema too, mainly on my ankle, but I didn’t think i could use plaster on it. I was told the skin needs to breathe. I use a cream to soothe the itching etc.

You can get the old fashioned ones you have to cut in cheaper shops. Pound store B&M etc. I always use one around the cut finger then another one over the top of the nail on finger tip.

We always used Elastoplast fabric ones, (other brands are available), they were brilliant and stayed on much longer than the so-called waterproof ones which just fell off. Nowadays we find they aren’t very good at staying put either. Must be our skin.

Have you tried liquid plasters, such as this one Luckygirl? But then again, I'm not sure they would be compatible with eczema.

Or stop using plastics altogether unless they are 99% recyclable

Ditto plasters and also freezer labels that actually stick and don't end up in the bottom of the freezer drawer.

A way to prevent plastics and other pollutants entering our eco-systems.

My favourite plaster were the old fashioned stretchy ones on a strip. They stuck for much longer than the nasty plastic modern ones wrapped in plastic. Sometimes I’ve managed to buy the strip ones but they definitely don’t work as well as the old ones!

I always envied "Beam me up, Scotty" in Star Trek.
How great to be transported to another place without the hassle of getting there.
I think NASA, or some similar organisation, are working on this.
